How about a unique boss this time around?

Upon reaching the summit of Fort Drakon I expected to begin an epic struggle against the Blight's catalyst: the Archdemon. But as the fight commenced, the truth became evident: I had done this before. The Archdemon fight was simply a rehash of two previous dragon boss battles with waves of Darkspawn enemies appearing when the boss hit certain health percentages. After the two previous dragons, this one became almost too easy as the strategies from the  previous encounters were almost second nature.

Bioware, this time around, it would truly appreciated if you didn't recycle boss fights for the game's final battle. I would really hate to stroll into the tower/undergound cavern/ancient temple/etc. and find out that the DA2's final fight was little more than another copy and paste.

I agree. I didn't like the final boss fight in Dragon Age, at all.

I think this time there'll be a good antagonist, something like Saren, but more personal

Saren was full of win. I'd like to see an antagonist capable of human speech this time around.

That would be Jon Irenicus.

Queen of the Black Marsh was a good step in that direction.

I usually don't like boss fights in RPG's in general. I can't really recall one that I loved. Even in some of my favourite RPG's mandatory boss fights rarely really made the game better. I can't remember the last time you were really able to talk your way past the end boss in a cool way like in Fallout or Planescape.

Oh, and Fallout 3 with John Henry Eden doesn't count. That part was just terribly, terribly written and stupid.

I think DA2 needs a better antagonist like OoT's Ganondorf, FFVI's Kefka or Bioshock's Andrew Ryan.

As far as I'm concerned, DAo had no memorable creatures. Fighting Ogres became tiresome after the Tower of Ishal and I lost all interest in fighting dragons after Awakening. I don't care what kind of creatures we fight, as long as there is greater variety.

I agree, though I did like the setting of the fight (on top of a building), and how it was broken into phases. I enjoy the fights that last longer than normal, so that you can savor them. Take, for example, Queen of the Blackmarsh -- I really liked that fight, because it wasn't just zerg down the boss in 60 seconds. It was broken into phases that deviated from the norm, and did things a little differently.

John Henry Eden wasn't a boss.... Autumn was. And you could talk past that.

Well, lots of different bosses all around are always nice. Maybe some fancy strategys to each, use the enviroment a little.

Wait, you can fight him? Stupid me complied and took the vial.

On topic, DA2 needs more enemy variety in general. Yeah, the variety was pretty decent, but I can only list a few enemies I had a hard time with. I mean, there are too many Ogres for one thing. And there should've been more variety of the darkspawn. (Never finished Awakening so I dunno if this has been improved upon).

My bad. If you don't talk your way out of it, you don't fight him directly, but you still have to deal with his goons. But if you managed to dissuade him from his insane plan with your brilliant arguments ("Don't do it, Mr. President!!! Killing people is wrong!!!") then he gets the robots to deal with the goons for you. You can also talk your way past Autumn, that was slightly less dumb. The second half of the Fallout 3 main quest is really dreadful.

I think I made him self destruct by mistake >.<

Anyhoo, yes TC, we do need a better final boss... And a better main villain. One with more depth than "I R ZOMBEH DRAGN AND I DSTRoY STUFF LOL" anyway.
