I can only assume this game is all but completed otherwise why make such a big deal dating a game this early?

I fully understand release dates change for various reasons, but after some of the farcical release issues with the current title (DLC etc) why are they pushing this date in such a major way?

Surely the criticism that has been levelled at them thus far would pale into insignificance compared to the critisism they would face if they fail to deliver the goods come 02/01/1?
