No, not MJ's famous dance.

As much as I enjoyed DAo, there were parts that frustrated me to no end. One feature in particular was the annoying tendency of characters to slide backwards whenever somebody tried to rush past them. If I set up two fighters right in front of the door to prevent the enemy from attacking my mage in melee combat, the enemy would merely rush right past them, and my warriors would kindly move out of the way.

To make matters worse, the enemy does the same thing when you try to rush past them! I would prefer it if neither the player nor the enemy slid backwards. This would make the combat far more difficult, as your party's formation would become critical to success. Not only that, but talents that knock your opponent back would also become far more useful

Thoughts?

There could be a low tier Warrior talent called "Steadfast" that would nail them in place to block doorways and such. Rogues not getting that would be fitting and give Warriors a tanking / battlefield control edge.

They did say "spartan" combat so it would be cool if you could play an all warrior battlefield control team.

That's probably all we could hope for, I suppose. I still think it's ridiculous that formations are almost impossible to create and maintain in DAo, especially since they advertised it as a tactical RPG.

Agree, sometimes it can be annoying.

BTW, 3 fighters actually fully jam the door, and mage is safe. Also, ranger's great bear is like a plug. Use him.

What made me crazy was that you can use abilities to pin enemies in place to block doors, but not your party members - except Shale, if I recall correctly - you could get Shale 'stuck' in doors, but you have to position correctly.
