Those are horrible graphics for a game of this era.

My biggest complaint is about the pointy armor, but...

...looks like that falls on the art department. The engine is doing everything it's supposed to.
...seriously?

Imagine if this is actually nearly the finished result, BioWare will be looking at these forums and going 'oh crap.....oh well they're only 0.0000000000003% of people anyway'. lol.
The problem is that if the graphics stay this way (looking straight out of '01-'02) and the art direction (sharp edges for all!) do not change in any significant way, I cannot see as many people buying DA2 as the first. Some weird ass baby of PoP, Borderlands, Fable, and the original DA:O is not going to impress too many people. I am sorry, but of the things BioWare has their in-game art department is one of the weakest. DA:O, while okay, was bland and lacked variety. KoTOR suffered similar problems. Mass Effect/2, despite being their biggest success in this regard still had some terrible looking armor designs and lacked some variety in enemies. It is unlikely that they would be able to make something great out of this if this is the foundation off which they are working.

I do not like all the spikes in the armor or the wierd looking swords, other than that, I'm sure that this is not what the final game will look like.
Let's hope so. Otherwise all the people who love the graphics more than the story and characters will burn Bioware studio down and lynch all the employess.

I think the story is the most important but this art style will just constantly break all imersion, Hawke says, 'My enemies look like that...bwahahahahahahaha...'

No but bad reviews will also come with such poor graphic, and then it wont sell much, just like the prison break game.

Yes, who else would be - but they work for the Reapers.
You'll have to rescue Hawke from the Darkspawn planet and recruit him into your new team.
Wait, now I've confused everything. *goes away to clear his mind *

I really do hope someone will make a mod that replaces the new dark spawn models with the old ones, or even better tweak the new ones to reduce thespikynesspyramidiness and add some clothes to cover that hideous pale skin. That sword is way too... not right looking for my taste as well.

Do you mean the screenshots for pre-rendered graphics in the NWN engine, or the ones done in DA own engine?David Gaider wrote...
As I recall, the reaction was much the same to the first looks at Origins. Nothing like a couple of early screenshots for fans torip apartexamine.
The comments are appreciated, folks, both good and bad. Hopefully there will be more for you to look at soon.
Because if it's the former then the game dropped that style completely few years down the road, and if it's the latter then it's perhaps worth noting the style didn't really change much from these early screenshots and the final game got
Incidentally, could you comment on the brightness of those screenshots? I mean, they look like the gamma level is way above normal on them (even things which should be in shadows are very bright and there's very little contrast overall) i'm just curious if this is accident when saving the images for the web sites to use, or is this part of the new "graphics style"?

I dont want to have to wait for a 3rd party to unveil the female PCs 1 week or so before the game goes live.

20 pages of complaints! Wonder whats the world record?
Probably the 2,495 page thread with over 42,000 replies on the WoW forums complaining about the forum change. We only have 2,475 to go!
