Those screenshots are TERRIBLE! What the hell? Dragon Age 1 looked way better and I'm not talking just about style. It looks like an xbox 1 game.

This has to be a mistake on someone's part. These screens are clearly nowhere near representative of a final product, the first one looks circa 2003...

I've no doubt we'll be suitably impressed with the finished product.

"Super hot"? Please, those visuals are anything but impressive. They're rather bad, in fact... Why can't we get something on par with Mass Effect?

On the other hand, they may still be playing with the art style and thus haven't bothered investing much graphical detail yet. But if this is what they're 100% going for, this is terrible news. I've seen better looking textures on the PS2.

What, exactly, is "on par with Mass Effect"? No, I mean seriously. That's such a blanket statement.

Hmm... I like Hawke's armor, and the Ogre's not bad, but I have to admit, I'm getting a bit of a dudes-in-fetish-gear vibe from the Hurlocks. Maybe some pants?

It doesn't look finished graphic wise which makes sense so if this is the bare bones it's going to look awesome by the end. Though they should of probably put down in the article that these screens are NOT finished product as a lot of people are going to base an opinion on those few screens

I dunno, I thought they looked pretty nice personally. Especially since they are very early screens. You can definitely see the differences, especially in the second screenshot. The textures look pretty good.

Scorpion, cannot be unseen

This, or maybe Scorpius from FarScape TV series. Anyway, Disciples in Awakening looked like this already.

Not exactly good looking, but I trust they'll improve closer to release.

Heh, Scorpius, right on :wizard::wizard:, I was trying to place what those things reminded me of.

The first screenshot looks like something from Brutal Legend...

The human looks way better than anything in DA:O, but still really bland. Hopefully we'll see more in the coming months but it looks like Bioware just gave up on pretty graphics and competing with the Witcher 2, which is a shame.

I hope those aren't the final designs. Kinda looks like a step down from the DAO designs.

1st image looks terrible!
2nd image looks AWESOME.

I really like the art direction they've taken. They need to figure out somewhat to make the DA franchise stand out, as previously it's visuals are nearly as bland as NWN's.

Infact this is kind of what I always imagined BG3 would look like. Cheers!

Color me unimpressed. That's the first thing i see from DA2 that i don't like, the graphics. Don't particularly like the art design (what's with all the spikes, even on our character?) and from a technical standpoint it looks quite dated. I was under the impression they wanted to improve on DAO. Sorry but judging by those 2 pics, they failed.

Well, the armor and weapons are what I like the least. I like the monster and character design though. I think its much better than DA. The darkspawn in DA looked ridiculous, with perma-grins and eyes bulging from sockets.

I bet this is alpha version we are looking at. Does anyone know if they are using the same engine?

Could be. Picking up those guys in massive armor and smacking them around is hard on the back.

Keep in mind that these are the first screens we're actually seeing. Looking back at DAO's first screens and the end results leave me optimistic for how the game will eventually look upon release.

Bioware: I don't post on the forums often, but I am a huge fan and advocate for DAO. I love the game and have recommended it repeatedly to my gaming friends.

That said, I feel my enthusiasm for the DA franchise slipping with each new reveal for DA2. I'm not thrilled that you want me to shelve my Warden and play some guy named Hawke, especially as my Warden's story feels unfinished. I'm skeptical that a focus on action will actually improve the game (having flashbacks to Bethesda's Oblivion combat 'improvements'), and I'm not liking this new artistic direction - it feels bland and uninspired.

I recognize that it's very early and there is still a lot more to learn, but I'm worried about the direction you are taking the DA franchise. Worried enough that I won't be pre-ordering the game.

Wow, That is some surprisingly awful graphics. No doubt they'll improve, but I do wonder why they would even release these...
