Can we turn-off finishing moves?

Some of the animations could be slightly shorter like the ogre one but I think the dragon finishers were fine since they were really flashy and cool. Also dragons are very rare so when you get to finish one off it's always awesome.

The first screenshots appear to feature one, so it looks like they're still in DA2. But I found they disrupted gameplay, and I'd like to turn them off.
I'd like to ask for the ability to turn them off.
I say make more finishing moves

Imo, finishing moves should give the player some sort of buff after so it can be more attractive. Also if one can control it (like mortal combat? heh) would be awesomesauses too! I always hated Sten stealing my thunder when he always seem to ninja that last killing blow from me. That giantantic basterd!

Having an option to turn them off sounds reasonable, people who like them can still have them while those that find them irritating can just switch them off.
I wouldn't mind if some animations led to some advantage in fights afterwards too, perhaps at the end of the ogre animation, the character could leap from the Ogre as it is falling and land on another enemy for a little bonus kill.

Well, as long as you're asking for the ability to turn them off, I'm with you. Otherwise, I quite liked them, even the ogre one, and if they make them different per type of weapon or something similar, then I'll like them even more.

Short said. More finishing moves, alot more varied and for all types of classes.

If you're using the PC version then a mod called Forced Deathblows has a file which turns off deathblows I believe.
Nice. I'm going to go try that now. If they can't offer this as an official option, hopefully we can at least mod it in DA2.
EDIT: Bleh, this is why it should be an option within the game. According to the page, ogres and dragons still get deathblows even with the minimal install. Is there anyway to turn it off completely?

On my first playthrough I didn't even know there were finishing moves for dragons, because I killed them with mages.Alodar wrote...
Or you can just play a solo-mage and then you never have to see them.

Fighters were superfluous in the game -- just the way I like it.
