Do you think Shepard and Miranda actually LOVED eachother. Basically, they flirted and had sex, that's it. With Thane, Tali, Garrus and Jack, you know they really cared about eachother. Do you think Shepard and Miranda actually loved eachother (that is if you pursued that romance)>

The Garrus romance is no more deep than the Miranda one. (I'd argue its more shallow and rushed.)

Yeah, but Shepard and Garrus knew eachother, he was all nervous and she told him to relax (okay, now i sound like Tali), but you get what i mean. With Shep and Mir it was more like let's do it.

I might agree, if not for the final scene, and the reaction he gives you if you turn him down.  Those two scenes prove to me that it was definitely not shallow.

I dunno, what you're talking about, they only talked to each other like twice... She thanked me for helping with her sister, and that was the end of it.

Who knows. Miranda did spend 2 years looking at your naked body, helping you come back to life. I can see someone growing attached in the events that follow after your resurrection.

I think it's a matter of peronal interpretation. Much like how one looks at art and sees something others won't.

With that said, I see that this thread has the potential to light up like a brush fire.

It's definitely love, at least on Miranda's part (don't know about your Shepard, some of mine were crazy about her). Just watch this video:

Shepard says he really cares about Miranda, then she says she's angry at her hormones for thinking this is a "great time for love", and Shepard is obviously joking when he says he just wants to bang her.

And while the actual love scene is more steamy and physical and less touchy feely than the others, it's largely due to the fact that neither of them have any real emotional baggage (at least not compared to Jack, Garrus or Thane) and there aren't any concerns or complications, since both are human.

Honestly, it does seem a bit rushed from my point of view.

Miranda is not some sleaze, and to make a fling out of that after having Shepard loan her some decent emotional stability is quite a conclusion.

I'm not saying she is, it just seemed almost like a "romance of opportunity".

I think it goes a bit more beyond than just some decent emotional stability.  I think it's also the fact that Shepard is the first person to treat her like an actual person, not just some employee or some tool to be used.

Couldn't tell you though if it felt rushed or not.  I never romanced Miranda (I did try Jack once, just to see what it was like; too bipolar for me).

I can see arguments for why Garrus might have felt rushed (again...didn't romance anyone on that playthrough - only played femShep once...just to try a different class), but in a way, it's something that in theory, have been building up on Garrus' part since ME 1.

Well I think it comes down to how you define love and how you carried out the romance in game.

Personally I define love as the following:
1) Knowing some one well enough and having experienced the good and the bad enough to know that you accept them for their flaws as well as their positive traits.
2) Being willing to sacrifice for their happiness, and knowing that they would do the same for you.

Some people love a lot of people and some people don't ever love any one.  Some people are loved by many and some people are loved by no one.

When I finished ME2, I felt that the character Mirranda loved the character Shepard.  She was not only willing to trust him, but to put her life on the line for him in a way that went beyond the mission.  After I destroyed the Collector's home base, she resigned her position with Ceberus in order to be with Shepard.

Go back and play the game from the beginning again and pay attention to the way that Mirranda reacts to Shepard, and the slavish devotion she has to the Illusive man.  Over the course of the game her loyalties become completely re arranged, not just because of hormones and great sex, but because of an obvious connection between her and Shepard.

Now as to whether or not Shepard loves Mirranda or he is simply using her, well that's really a matter of what your personal emotional instinct was/is.  If you never identified with Mirranda or had any interest other than seeing how far the creators of ME2 would let you get towards a goal of seeing digital boobies, then I guess you could say that Shepard doesn't love her.  If Mirranda was a character you felt you could identify with, or whose story and continued existence you cared about in a way that went beyond the romance angle, then perhaps you could say that Shepard loves her.

What he "really" feels is whatever you decide he really feels, whereas with all of the other characters, they presumably have some real feelings and motivations, and the best that you can do is interpret those based on the limited dialog in the game.  If you can identify any emotions that are too complex to be summed up with a single word or phrase, then the writers have probably done their jobs adequately.

It used to be love. But then that genetically perfect bubble butt of hers started letting rip with the perfect genetically engineered farts. I'm talking farts so bad that even Urz would slink away and bury his face in Vorcha dung to get a breath of fresh air.

*facepalm*

As for the OP, it depands. Miri's romance has alot of dialog that can lead to two diffrent conclusions. If you just pick all the top dialog it looks more like sex. However pick are you jelous(the best flirting IMHO) don't know, don't care and no promiss's. This does not sound like a fling to me, I know for sure that Joshua Shepard and miri love each other. However I just wished her sex scene was better. The dialog was fantastic but the options lead to diffrent conclusions but her sex scene just plain sucked. It was a slap in the face to us Miri fans who loved her and it hurts her character alot.

Yes the sex scene was horrible. Jack had a better scene, but Miri had the better dialogue imo

There have been different rationalizations for the engine room scene, but in the end it's indeed pretty much this. Apart from the corrugated steel floor, I don't dislike the engine room scene as much as some others, but Miranda's room, in front of the window, that could have been romantic as well as hot.

As for whether or not it's love, from Miranda's side it's clearly more than a fling: "So don't die! You promise me, damn it!" You don't say such a thing to someone you don't care about beyond one night. From Shepard's side, it depends on how you play it and how you imagine your Shepard. For my main Shepard, Miranda is the one and only.

My god, there are still who think it is not about love ?
Of course they loved each other.

Shepard : I care about you Miranda and I think you care about me.
...
Miranda: What idiotic bunch of hormones thought that now was a great time for love?
...
Shepard: It doesn't matter. What matters is how we feel.
...
Miranda: Yeah. I do. So don't die! You promise me, damn it!
