I was disappointed that an awakened darkspawn couldn't join your party in Awakening, I thought for sure that the Architect's messenger would join you after Amaranthine was saved or immediatley if you left right away. I saw the good in him right away, and knew he could be a potential companion, but that wasn't so. We all know that awakened darkspawn aren't mindless and they're capable of doing good deeds as seen in the Awakening epilogue if you spare and release the messenger. I know there are those who would object to this because the majority of the world views them as evil monsters and of course, the fact that they spread a plague that corrupts people and turns them into ghouls. I'm sure there must be a way around this, and maybe an added quest for this darkspawn companion in which you seek out the Architect if he lives or search for anyresearch of his that might help if he died, and cure his problem. I must admit, I know little about DA2, and I don't know if Hawke has predefined morals that would cause him to object to a friendly darkspawn, awakened or no. I know this idea has been brought up in the past, but that was for DA:O and Awakening, DA2 is a whole new story and I'd like to here your opinions, thanks.

I think its a stupid idea in my opinion but to each his own. If we do get a darkspawn companion then I am not letting him join me.

Sorry, but I don't want to die from some kind of disease like those people do when the darkspawn is helping people out at the end of Awakening.

I'm tired of Bioware setting up deliciously soulless enemies only to turn them into improbable allies.

I think it's a good idea!

Of course it would be tricky story wise. It would need to make sense and obviously be more then "wouldn't it be cool to have a darkspawn in our group!"

This reaction is one of many that were anticipated, if you believe the darkspawn are pure evil, then you can always kill him like you could Zevran, or not recruit him like many others. So yes, I believe you should also have the option to send him on his marry way, or slay him on sight as the case may be.

Personally I am hoping The Messenger from Awakening pops up as a companion.

Problem is, they hate Wardens and consider them abominations. And Architect's messenger actually just pretending to be friendly. He actually carries on his patron's plan of turning every living non-darkspawn into a ghoul. I just can't see why any of them would want to help wardens.

I'd rather have an evil demon, like in Jade Empire. God, I loved that power-mad toad demon.

I'm guessing no, but who knows, stranger things have happened.

Qunari broodmother approves +10. However, it'll be a game-changing romance...

I'd second an abomination ally.

Tee hee, maybe someone infested by *all* the demonic types. Now wouldn't that be wonderfully chaotic?

Doesn't he go on to become a masked hero if you let him live?
It isn't implied that he caused a some of the people he met to become sick on purpose.

A desire demon would be more probable a companion than a DarkSpawn, despite the fact I would want both as companions (hey if Legion can join Shepard...)

Darkspawn BROmance, then...  You know those guys would be awesome in the wee hours of the evening, after a few too many drinks.

Let's call it Legion while we're at it.

Pretty much this. A shape shifting Demon would be so much cooler, then some darkspawn.

The problem I see with this is that it would affect every other interaction you have - if you a Darkspawn in your party, that will *always* be a big deal. I don't really want Hawke's struggle to be "equal rights for Darkspawn."

Ah, they should just add some "Demonologist" specialization for mages.

Ogrhen was the Warden's drinking buddy, I'll bet Hawke needs one too. Posted Image

If the Darkspawn is as much of a bro as Lee Johnston, that would be glorious.

They can cover their face like the Messenger does.
Plus with the new art direction they look like deformed human, rather than monsters.

He could hide his face in public, just as the masked hero does in the Awakening epilogue.
