First I'd like to say sorry if I'm reposting a topic. Just spent an hour looking for something on this issue and can't find anything.
I bought Awakening when it came out but never got the chance to play it. I just popped it in today (7/12/10). I was prompted to download an update (assuming it was the preparation for Darkspawn Chronicles from what I've read). I started a new game, imported my character (Human/Male/Noble) and all his armor is gone (he's in the buff). I was wearing the Blood Dragon Armor set.
I read somewhere regarding a different armor glitch that one should remove all DLC/RtO gear before importing. I did so and re-imported. The character is no longer naked, but the dragon armor that was in my bags is now missing.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there a fix? Do I just not get to use that armor set in Awakening?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx!

Starfang also disappears, along with most dlc. Don't know why they decided to ditch most dlc for the add-on, but heigh ho. I miss the helm of Honnleath the most.
When I imported my dual weapon rogue, who was wielding Olaf's cheese knife and starfang, she ended up fighting the darkspawn bare-handed! Thankfully I had Topsider's Honour in my backpack! Bit of a surprise. She was wearing the superior dragonbone plate, so no worries about armour.
Since then, I've always made sure my characters end up in the dragonbone armour (or the juggernaut armour, depending what mood I'm in). I haven't played it for a while, but I'm sure they had a change of heart so that you could take the dlc from RtO with you (given most of us bought it for the swords and armour). Can't remember though - I'm sure someone will correct me!
I just want to take Sten's butterfly sword with me!

Great... so I should just move on without the Dragon armor I'm guessing. And yes, the RtO gear shows up in my bags. I'm really surprised it's been 3 months since awakening and no patch for it's glitches. For shame Bioware... for shame.

BActually, I remember reading somewhere, that bioware stated that the Dragon Armor and certain other items from DA: Origins would NOT transfer over with imported characters into Awakenings, and I don't think it was a glitch, I believe this was intended that way, because aside from importing your character, Awakenings is a technically a seperate game on the 360 beings it can be purchased as an addon expansion, or, a standalone game...
I may be wrong, but that is how I remember reading the explanation....

Blacklock: Yeah, they were upfront about that at least. I'm really pleased they changed their minds about the RtO gear. It was just one of those times that I hadn't read the forums before going into the expansion and my character was left with no weapons and I'm hammering buttons and swearing!
It's not a glitch that the stuff disappears - sorry, should have made that clear - but yes, it does happen. And if it happens unexpectedly it can be... annoying.

Thanks for the responses. I hadn't read about them being upfront regarding the blood dragon armor. I'm going to enjoy what I can from the expansion and mull over whether or not I'll continue to follow this series on consoles.

I had forgotten what items would not go over when i picked up Awakenings, so of course when I imported, I appeared pretty much naked, and bare handed lol
So I just reloaded my DA:O game, went to camp and like others removed all items that where listed as no go, and geared up with the best items I had that would transfer over...
of course, all those items where scrapped soon after entering the game due to much better items being in the expansion

I experienced the same thing. I was quite confused at first, wondering where my Blood Dragon Armor and Harvest Festival Ring had gone. Then I read this, and everything made sense. I was still disappointed, though.

Now what IS a bug is that your character still has the stats and such of the stuff if you left it on, including fatigue (so make sure you take off the Blood Dragon Armor). So, what I do is before I import I equip the Amulet of the Warmage Harvest Festival Ring, and Embri's Many Pockets. All those stats and resistances then become permanent boosts to your character and the slots are open for other stuff to be worn

I agree they should ... there are other bugs inside the game. where you may loose items ... proof they should have thought ahead.
