DA2 has JUST been announced..everyone is already thinking ist will suck, it will be like mass effect, that the graphics still look lame, that hawke is a stupid character...ITS JUST BEEN ANNOUNCED PEOPLE...it wont be released to freaking 2011 in march.

and to all the complaints everyone has had

1. having hawke talk makes your character ALIVE and not just some silent emotionless protaginist

2. the combat is not gonna be a 3rd person shooter, it will be like origins but updated.

3.ok, your not a warden raising an army to fight the blight do we want to do the SAME PLOT we did in 2009

4.and the graphics...WHO CARES, graphics dont make a games, sucky games like cod have great graphics, but AWSOME games like the first dragon age have terriblie graphics..and they are BETA GRAPHICS DA2 is still being updated, no game has the full made graphics from the start.

say what you like but if your a loyal fan to bioware who loved kotor, dragon age, the mass effect series, and buldars gate i dont see how anyone could be worried...its bioware OK its gonna be an awsome game maybe the best ever

"Updating" to "Kawke" shouldn't mean tearing out origins and race choices.

I didn't know it was illegal to be skeptical. And if a game is really ugly graphics wise, I wouldn't want to have to melt my eyes to play it. But that's just me.

Does praising a game just recently announced make any more sense?

ok i admit the lack of origin stories and choosing races is a bit dissapoiting but the game will probbaly have plenty of awsome things to make up for that, and by the way i never said it was wrong to be skeptical, i just hate the fact people are saying this game sucks when its not even released

Pre alpha. It's pre alpha. How do you not understand this? Those screenshots are not the finished product and games go through allot of changes in the last year of production.

Part of the problem, I suppose, is that I'm not a loyal fan of Bioware's.  I loved Mass Effect, liked DA:O well enough, learned to like ME2 after I stopped trying to get it to be an RPG and realized it was just a shooter.

I think a lot of the "panning" comes from the fact that this feels eerily familiar to Mass Effect fans.  You heard it here first: I'm guaranteeing we're going to find out about the "RPG streamlining" they have planned a few months before release.  I give the inventory a 50/50 shot at staying in.

only a few people say it clearly that their optinion is that it sucks, most of the people here just share their concerns in a more or less civilized way

however, threads like yours is just like pouring oil on fire, it does the opposite of what was meant to be archieved

If DA1's graphics are any indication than we're in for a sub par visual experience...

Maybe not, but we could use a little less downright skepticism around here.

He's trolling just to troll. He told me so. And he hasn't even played DAO... I'd say just ignore him.

i heard people are crying and complaining about not being able to play as a dwarf/elf. and are going to the length of saying they wont buy it because of that.

i personally liked being able to play them but there wasn't any difference to me at all besides height. this time they can focus on one and give it more

Yeah, no.  The closest thing is the devs daying DA2 will have more "dynamic" combat- and then saying it will be largely the same on the PC version, but better adapted to consoles on the other versions.  The inventory isn't going anywhere.

These accusations are crazy. I never played DAO but I am looking into getting the second one to get into the series. I'm just saying, I'm not that impressed.

im not saying the game actully will be good i just THINK it will be good, many others however think the game already sucks and it ticks me off when people judge games on graphics, cuz what matters if the game plays well and has lots to do and has a great plot. plus the graphics are not in final product and it wont be ANYTHING like mass effect, they are 2 entirely diffrent games in gameplay, style, and setting...the only thing they mentioned that is simalry to mass effect is the way they are designing the character...but id rather my character have personalty then be a silent mindless drone

Bookmark this thread and come back to it after release. :)  Like I said, this all feels rather familiar.  Nobody knew at the time that ME2's "streamlined" mechanics basically meant they'd gutted all the RPG out of it.

I'm sure "dynamic" combat couldn't possibly be a euphemism like that, though.

I hope they do "streamline" the game. It will draw all the elitists from the Mass Effect boards.

I don't understand why everyone wants change that doesn't seem to be working (well in the oldschool gamer department). I mean the Metal Gear Solid series kept the same cinematic storytelling experience throughout its whole history. Even though many people hated it (mostly ignorant casual gamers that should've been playing Halo), the game was still selling so many copies because the system work--they didn't fix what wasn't broken. I don't understand the 180 that Dragon Age took... I guess its all about $. At least with Metal Gear solid, we got the same system, same hero, and in the end a final story that even the gods would be pleased with...
