True, we may not have that much information with what information we have been given is what is upsetting a lot of people. You notice in my first post that all those arguments were things that were CONFIRMED by Bioware, not speculation (Not for Mass Effect 3, but for Dragon Age 2). Yes, it might be true that I turn out to be wrong. Yes, this system could work and people will love the changes. It's just these design decisions made by Bioware make me and others who agree with me feel alienated.

But that shouldn't make people say "omg it's not dragon age why are they calling it a sequel".

it cries Fallout 3 all over again

When it was developed I joined its forums, I was one of the people who defended Bethesda that they can pull it off if they want that they can really make a true sequel to Fallout 1-2

In the end, when the game came out I was sad to see that they didn't manage it, they just made a game in the same world as Fallout 1-2 but not a true sequel, it was just too different from the predecessors for me to be considered a sequel, and I was never able to even play a bit further than reaching the village with the nuke.

Fallout 3 got my attention only because it was Bethesda making it.  Elder Scrolls is my favorite thing ever and I hated the first Fallout games.  So when Bethesda, the developer of my favorite thing ever made Fallout 3 I was interested and I tried it and liked it.

A modern day fallout would possibly look more like Mass Effect than what we got with Fallout 3 (I mean pseudo control of squadmates and the like). But I liked Fallout 3 a whole lot because I'm a big Elder Scrolls fan. It kind of overruled the Fallout fan in me.

Yes cause everything announced so far (if it is indeed the sequel of this great RPG called DA) is quite disappointing, and well, first impressions last.

I liked the third fallout just because I could go around and explore. It felt cool and sort of...melancholic.

The two first ones were better though.

that is sad, as it shows you people cared much about it being made by Bethesda than the game becoming true to its predecessors

Just because a game is set in the same universe, and uses the same terminology, doesn't make it a true sequel. If the core gameplay values remain untouched and it still has that "Dragon Age" feel, the huge moral choices, and meaningful consequences (one of the few things that the first game was lacking of), then this could possibly be a true sequel. I'm only stating what worries me (and many others) with what has been CONFIRMED!

It was true to its predecessors, you heel.  The gameplay doesn't have to remain the same for a game to be "true" to what came before it.  The first two games I hated.  The third one I liked.  The third one brought more people to the game.  I know people who played 3 and never even played the first two (or were even aware of their existence).  The wide appeal of Fallout 3 brought more people to Fallout.  I gave the game a chance because of Bethesda.  That's soooooooooo bad to like a developer, isn't it?

If the same thing happens with DA2 where people try it because BioWare is making it and they heard there's a voiced character are you going to turn your nose up at them, too?  I swear people choose the dumbest things to be elitist about.

I'm honestly not getting into a debate about semantics. I'm really not. I am walking away slowly from this thread.

These reactions are just funny stuff, if you read the ME2 boards after the game launched, you'd think it was the worst piece of **** to ever hit the market.

Yet obviously sales numbers and reviews disagree, as do most gamers who do not bother posting on forums because they're too busy enjoying the game.

BW knows their games, but if I had one critique on DAO, it was that it's too traditionalist; I like that they're trying something different here.

Scepticism is fine, but unplugging all the madness of the nine hells for a game that has been revealed a mere week, and has only put out some screenshots and statements on the direction it is taking, is not scepticism, it's trolling & hating and unproductive bull**** based on fearmongering.

You guys really think developers are more keen to listen to you if they have to go through all of this every time they come out here to read the forums?

Some people decided when they heard there were voiceovers or whatever else that they were going to dislike the game no matter what.  They cannot be pleased or reasoned with at this point and will continue to post and crap all over it until months after its release without ever giving it a chance.

Well we are then the opposite, I wanted Fallout 3, not a shooter in the same world

People complain way more over lack of origins and races than about VO as it seems, I myself don't care much about the VO neither

I for one don't mind the voice over provided it's really good but the lack of non human playable characters annoys me. I hope we'll get a toolset and then the first thing I'll try to do will be to use the toolset to switch Hawke's model in order to play a Dwarf or an Elf.

Now that would be fun. Anime graphics are the best.

I wouldn't mind a Bleach, Naruto, Seven Kingdoms, or Alucard anime RPG game myself to be honest, especially if its made by competent developers and allows the main charater to be costumizable

True, I admit I was a bit displeased with not being able to use my Warden at first but I learned to just realize it isn't a big a deal and...deal with it lol.

Most people who spend more time on the forums than playing  the game will be the ones complaining cause nothing will stop their bleeding unless Bioware made the game specifically like they want it...which will never happen.

When did I ever say that I was going to dislike the game because of the VO? I can't base judgement on whether the game will be good or not, because it's not even out yet. I was only commenting on things that Bioware had Confirmed.

has anybody gotten the new gaminformer yet THIS GAME LOOKS AWSOME, the dialouge sytem looks good and some of the neweer screenshots are AMAZING, yes the darkspawn still look a little weird but the human character models look AWSOME as does flemeth(yes gaminformer shows her) the new story sounds cool, it sounds like theres tons to do, and you can download your file from DA 1 to DA 2 so the game plays diffrently, trust me if anyone here is still skeptical of DA 2 just check out gameinformers interview, i think you will be quite pleased.

I was just reading the Game Informer scans, and well.. the game still looks like something out of 2005. The one concept art shot is pretty neat though, and I think a game with that artstyle would be pretty epic and distinctive. Instead it's all 'Attack of the Geometic Shapes' with really bad looking Darkspawn.

Those are alpha screens. The sword isn't even the real art.

You can't judge the graphics at this point since it's not final but I don't like the direction this is going in. In fact I'm going to stop complaining since I hate what they're doing so much I'm just going to write this game off.

I've noticed the 'alpha screens' comment being thrown around a lot. Is there a link to the developers post who said this was the case?

Mary Kirby stated the art was not final in one of the sword threads. Plus, I mean, come on. The game is nine months away.

Not final is not 'alpha screens'. Now, I agree it'll probably improve, but knowing where those screenshots come in terms of the development timeline is rather important, don't you agree?
