DA:2 My hopes

I know this bothers some, but for me it's not that big of a deal. Most games I opt for the elf option but with the size of the weapons in DA:O I primarily played a human anyways, as they seemed a better fit to me.
Now my hope is that with taking away the other race options for PC's that bioware will have added more to the customization of the character itself. Things like:
1) Height / Build sliders
2) More hair options w/ the inclusion of earrings and such
3) More tattoo options, not just for the face but for other parts of the body as well.
4) Scar options
5) Better tinting options, the ones in DA:O were not that great. As the tint got darker it seemed to become more blotchy.
6) More beard options with some thinner options (some like the goatie were just way to thick for what I was going for)
I also hope for a couple other features such as:
1) The ability to customize / tint your weapons and armor
2) The ability to make your own weapons like you could in NWN2 (just something l liked, as long as there are different molds for the same weapon)
Do I expect to get all of these things? No, of course not. I do hope for at least some of them though given the limitations immediately put on the race of the character.
However it turns out though, I'm still gonna at least check the game out and give it a chance. I don't depend on others reviews, if I did that I'd never watch a movie.

I agree. The character customization should blow my mind. I mean the game is a cinematic look- at-yourself-half-the-time game. Even when you put on a helmet (some of them in DA origins were sweet too) they took it off for dialog.
I wasn't a fan of the helmets myself, but that's usually because I spent so much time trying to find the perfect hairstyle for my character that I didn't want to cover it, lol. I will admit that some of the heavier armor ones looked really good though.

Scars, for sure. It seems inconceivable to me that any character in Thedas engaging in melee battle for any length of time would not have a few reminders of those days he fought hungover, or was otherwise not at his best. Edged weapons and scars are a natural fit, at least it seems so to me.
I agree, and like tattoos I think it would be nice to be able to put them in other places besides the face also.

I love fiddling around with character creation, so the more variety there the better.

Yeah for me that's 1/2 the fun, just trying to tweak down to the perfect fit.
I don't know how many 1/2 finished games I have just because halfway through I got an idea for another character and spent the next oh i don't know how long trying to tweak it, lol.

Totally agree with these things, but not with the coloring weapon stuff. It's just seems like that it doesn't makes sense at all.
Scars, Tatoos, Hairs (Short hairs mostly for males), adjusting the height/weight, etc. would be awesome.

Well if your able to craft your own weapons I don't see any reason why you couldn't dye them to get the color your looking for? That's just me though, if it's not your thing I can respect that

Dying metal? Does not compute.
Melt, add, cool, shape, would be my guess. However, it is a fantasy world is it not? You have Black armors in the game why not black blades?

But yeah, arguing over realism in fantasy is pretty pointless if the end result is cool.

Yeah I pretty much agree, and hope this kinda thing is put into DA2 (espically with the body sliders now that we just have to stick with Humans)wwwwowwww wrote...

But I would also like it if the character customise wardrobe area where you make the chracter has better lighting, as the amount of times I've made a character in DA:O (and other RPGs for that matter) and as soon as you start playing the game the character's hair or skin is about ten shades lighter then before, which means I have to start all over again.

I hope my character finds Morrigan. It would be like Last of the Mohicans!
Considering during the time the game takes place Morrigan is off with the Warden, not sure how that will fit, but you never know.

All of these would be great, but I don't expect the size and height one to be there, since they have the cut scenes I don't know if it could pull in everyones different build. I am easily amazed at what computer people can do, so if they could that would be great. I would like more female hair styles. DA had a nice braid for the guys and I wanted it for my female.
I usually play on the xbox 360. I like it. but any games like this where the looks and costume are important to me, I get it for the pc so I can download mods as soon as people start making them. It would be nice if I didn't have to do that.
I'm looking forward to it.

I work with a blacksmith who does damascus pattern welding. Beautiful work. I don't care if the color can be changed but I'd love to have different patterns on the swords.

I also like the idea of more customization in the character creator, bodies as well as faces.
If I'm going to be spending hundreds of hours with my character I'd like to be able to fine tune the look until it's as close to right as I can make it.
