 For a while I didn't get it...until I followed a forumite's suggestion to repeat the name fast ten times...voila!

This could pose a problem down the line when the game is heavily promoted (as most Bioware games are)

Imagine an interviewer going:

"So the main protagonist in DA 2 is this character known as Mike Hawke and ...."

(Peals of laughter from the audience)

Interviewers will have to enunciate the name to avoid awkward moments

Lol

You can admire Mike Hawke here.

Leave the forums out of this. They aren't ready.

I'm concerned about the speech impediments of anyone who pronounces 'Mike Hawke' in the manner everyone seems to be expecting....

I can almost bet Bioware will change this name...Mike Hawke will not be the protagonist's name when the game is released

But they couldn't do that, they've expended so much effort to make sure everyone knows his canon name is Mike. I mean it was clearly a descision by BioWare that wasn't a suggestion made by a fan that everyone's just gone with at all....^_^

I always pick this name when testing my plots, just to provoke giggles

heh... at first i thought it was a really subtle joke about how generic Hawke could be and how it'll ruin DA2, and I thought it was bloody brilliant... oh well.

Mike Hawke is non existent for me. I'm a girl. York Hawke is a possibility, though.

Welcome to British humour.  We are masters of scatology, innuendo and punning. As well as inventing irony, obviously.

Not assuming that the guy/gal who came up with 'Mike Hawke' is British, it's just a kinder explanation of why I find it funny than just being a bit simple!

Good to see someone else is watching that Posted Image

Also the first thread about Mike Hawke sadly got closed because it apparently got complaints about being "inappropriate" so i don't expect a better fate for this one.
