Will there be more than one Hawke voice option for each gender?

I'd still rather have one authentic English voice actor than a choice of three American ones. That is the most important thing to me in terms of the character's voice, authenticity.

And I'd rather have 3 English voices as opposed to 1.

Did you think about the localisation of more choices of voices?
More space, more money, so more issues

Blu-ray on PS3, blu-ray drives on PC.

And screw 360 ? Most PC users don't have a blu-ray rom

Besides, money is the main issue, not space

Several DVDs + option to install them and use 1 disk to play. There's always a way.

come on...no game thats multi platforms caters to the ps3. everyone aims for pc or 360, and then tosses out the other two versions just for the extra cash.
not insulting ps3 at all, just stating that most multi platform games, dont focus on it too much.

I hope that if there is only one voice (likely) they'll do a versatile one. One of the devs said Hawke's personality, though voiced, is flexible. If I make a borderline psycho or a sweet dingbat Hawke (the former is what I'm thinking of doing, by the way), I want it to be able to pass for both. Shepard's voice was okay for her, since she was set as a badass personality.

@ Deathstik- Well, Fereldan accents is what they mean.

Come to think of it, if Hawke has a Fereldan accent, it's going to be hard for me to dislike her voice.

Very very unlikely, it would take ages to redo every line with a new actor

IMHO, multiple voice actors would be worth the investment.

Barring multiple voice actors would it be possible to allow the user to change the pitch, tone, or timbre of the voice, thereby creating a different sound?

Been playing saints row? seriously though no. they want it to be cinematic so juts one well paid voice actor or actress and no tone alteration method

I have the feeling that we should be grateful we have the option of even two voice actors.

You know how bioware could add multiple voices to the game and still be on budget?

Add flavour voice and then leave the rest as text = briefer more intense cinematic moments + more voices that can be added as the main character

I'm just hoping that Hawkeman makes some sort of ladder/back reference. ^_^

If they had such resources, I imagine it would be used for multiple races of the main character rather than multiple human Hawkes.

Our restriction to Hawke seems, to me, to be largely because of the decision to go fully voiced with the main character. So, I wouldn't expect multiple voices, no.

Anything but that, honestly. That is much worse than going full text or full voice, in my book.

An equally interesting question, "Will there be the inclusion of a third gender?"  :wizard:
...which the answer is probably "no!" :(

Which brings me to why I am posting in this thread! ^_^ Is it possible that they could have perhaps an ambiguous voice?  ...maybe allow for the player to decide between the male/female voices despite their character's sex? Like...make a character that looks female, but has a male voice? Hmm?

I doubt it, but it doesn't hurt to toss in my two cents.

You do know very few fantasy settings are based in england right?
I want to be voiced by Keith David because his voice is more awesome than a theater full of englishmen.

How about a option to change the pitch? A la Soul Calibur IV. That created a lot more variety in the custom character creation.

I've mentioned this before and I'm not sure how viable it is, if at all, but I figure can't hurt to throw out there. Again. Y'know, at least until I get a "no" or "stop being crazy".

I'll throw in support for a change in pitch; hopefully not from mighty mouse to herman munster

You do know Ellestor that baldurs gate(Dragon Ages being the spiritual successor) had flavour voiced lines which apparently didn't bother people, but to each his own -

Meaning I can appreciate where your coming from and in no way am I trying to say your wrong, more to clarify my position.

No, we surely won´t. At the end the need for voicing them differently seems to be one of the reasons why they kicked the other races out.

it all comes down to money.

having one voice actor voice a main character is already a huge amount of cash.

I'd bet pretty much anything on this being a "no"

on that note, I've now done a game with fem "wise" and fem "violent"... NO CONTEST. Violent was far and away my favorite. And scrolling through the options on the other voices in character creation, I don't see any of the other ones changing that.

I'm actually really bummed that I didn't just stick with violent.. I wanted to try to really create a whole new character, but her voice just really bothers me. In other words, as long as it's well acted and has some edge to it, I'll be very happy.

You don't need anything beyond 2 for PC since you can heavily compress the audio and unpack them later. DAO came on 1 DL DVD and installed as a ~16GB game.

no i don't think so. they just need one really good VA.

i can't wait to hear the male and female VA's. it'll be like a baby's first word!(sorta) We've seen what hawke looks like so i hope bioware have picked a good VA. considering the VA has to do a lot of diverse emotions.(sarcasm, jokes, flirty blah blah on the wheel)

Actually... not wanting to argue either way because I don't really care too much either way (so long as it isn't just one stupid voice to choose from) Saint's Row 2 has a number of different voices for either gender, it's either three or four for each and the game isn't a huge hdd ****. There isn't a helluva lot of voicing in that one of course and I find it incredibly unlikely that there won't be a lot more character speech in DA2 than Saint's Row 2, but there may be room for some choice to be there.
