And if console gamers aren't responsible by, as you put it, the perceived "dumbing down" of console games, then who is?

Firstly, I'm very happy you have a giant
Now, here's a revelation for you: Deep games does not equal pc games. Morrowind managed to be deep an run on a console, as have many other games.
And another: Not everyone wants to sit at a desk, I prefer the sofa snuggled up to my wife. Different people like different things - and that's okay.
You're welcome.

Perhaps I was a little over-zealous in my previous post, I do understand that many console gamers do prefer a more action-oriented experience, but I feel that there are also console gamers who enjoy the old school RPG experience the DA:O brings and feel it is unfair to single them out for criticism. The post wasn't aimed at you or anyone in particular, I was just trying to show that console gamers are not all people who want games that play themselves.

In this case: EA. Or Bioware. Or both.
But appealing to the main stream would happen even if consoles weren't a factor. You should probably thank console gamers keeping action gaming alive and giving you a ME2 that was an RPG mixed with Gears.... without the Xbox you'd undoubtedly have gotten an RPG mixed with farmville.

Most of whats on console now is thanks to the PC. Western RPGs (Action and classic), adventure games and FPS's are all either from people who developed for the PC or grew up playing PC games.
If it wasn't for the influence and technology of the PC gaming world you'd still be playing only JRPG's and platformers in standard definition.
By the way, unlike the consoles I have the OPTION of playing differently tha\\n sitting at my (very comfortable) desk chair. In fact, tonight I'll be playing some Drit 2 using my wireless controller and from the comfort of my couch with some friends.
Unlike you I don't have to choose a single way of playing games.

Just because you can see Morrigan bouncing on your d*** a bit better than I can doesn't make you better okay. I want a gaming computer because I want better graphics and the tactical overview but its not top of my to buy list given I am well... dirt poor. So please stop, its p****** me off to no end.
Less eloquently stated. But I admire your passion.

I really hate the PC elitism, I want a gaming computer but I'll tell you something, I'm poor. I do not have the money to spend 100 dollars on a video card when an Xbox 360 only costs thrice that much. .
Lol. Did you read this before posting? 'cause it doesn't make any sense.
"I'm poor! I can only afford to pay three times as much money for a lesser option! Woe is me!"

Personally, I didn't play the XBox version, but my friends who have played both 360 and PC versions have said that the console version felt like a port and was more restricted and limited in its combat controls than the PC version. I don't know to what extent that is true, but that seems to be the concern that Bioware is trying to remedy, by making a system that is more comfortable with console controls, rather than trying to map keyboard and mouse. I would expect that they will not change the genre, but will rather try to create a combat system that preserves the same sense and feeling as the PC version. I hope that makes sense, and I hope the game is made in a way that satisfies you.

Listen, you are the ones who are worried about the possible change in combat for the consoles. I'm right there with you, I didn't like the removal of races from the game. Lousy decision.
But do you really think that the possible ('cause nothing has been confirmed) change to the combat in consoles has NOTHING to do with the fact that you guys are limited by a controller? Nothing at all that whether true or not, publishers consider consoles gamers more casual?
It's like you're lamenting that consoles aren't more like PC's. I'm just pointing out, that notions of PC gaming being super expensive are outdated and usually stem from ignorant comments by console gamers who wouldn't know a graphics card if someone hit them over the head with one.
If you really miss games that tend to be better on the PC, why not game on both platforms? A lot of people have an xbox 360 and a PS3 for the same reason, they want to be able to experience a variety of games. Hell, I've seen the same people who ignorantly claim that PC's cost thousands of dollars, turn around and spend $800 on plastic guitars for a single rockband game.
I'm just saying its an option.

Im too poor
Only major difference is graphics and combat wise and its the story that matters to me atleast
I do not care for Mods to be honest...yeah I said it, I'll probably get alot of hate but I used a few at my friends house and I didn't enjoy them
I do love Bioware and I do want a Gaming PC but living is a priority first and foremost and its too much money for too little reward in my opinion.

Awesome, you're turning this into a PC vs Console thread. Which is great, because I'm sure that with your singular mind on the case we can finally put this issue away once and for all.[snip rant abut pc history]

It's great you have options. I have options too – I'm clearly writing this message on a computer. The option I have chosen is to game using a 360.... there is no need to hate on me for that. Your original post pretty much implied that, as a console gamer, I deserve a lesser version for daring to defile your hobby with my foul console.
Look, I'm sorry if anything I said about your

It means that a console, a full package cost three times as much as a video card. A video card is only a small part of the entire PC which will thus cost more monet...get it.
Did you read my post in it's entirety? Heck, how about just that particular paragraph?
I said that MOST people ONLY need to get a video card in order to turn their machines into a gaming rig. As long as you have a semi modern PC (about 4 years old or newer) that's probably all you need to do.
As for buying a computer from scratch, I mentioned above that you can get a gaming rig, much more capable than any console for less than $600. That's only a few hundred bucks more than most consoles. And that $600 PC will be a powerhouse at anything else, general computing wise, that you throw at it, from HD video watching, editing, transcoding, to high def audio, picture editing, etc, etc, etc.\\
I guarantee you, that if you had invested on a gmaing PC, isntead of your xbox 360, right now you'd have 3 times as many games to enjoy for the same money as your consoles + the games that you currently own for it.
