Its not that console gamers are dumb, while I agree with the stereotype that console gamers prefer fast paced games to slow story ones, its the fact that many things in Origins were notably easier to execute with a mouse/keyboard. If you have to keep having to move your cursor over a lot in Xbox it leads to a lot of wasted time when strategical in combat.
For example, say you want to select something in the PC version of a game, simply move your mouse over it and click it. Done, .5 seconds tops. If you want to do it in the xbox though you can either move a cursor over it (if the game has that), but notably less precision than a mouse and hit X or B or whatever (been awhile since I've played an Xbox), or keep moving your toggle stick to the right/left to select the icon you want. Notably tailored experience to the PCs. DA2 devs are working to create a smoother experience for the consoles. If you ask me, it is obviously a sign that devs want a better experience for the players as I've heard alot of people complaining about the console versions of Origins.
Also, to refute a point made by the OP, hardware costs aren't balooning, newest stuff is always expensive as hell, but it always drops in price when the games actually start utilizing the full hardware. $500 video cards for example are complete overkill in the games made today. Quad cores are also overkill, you could easily play with a $70 AMD processor. I have a $150 or less (haven't checked prices in awhile) ATI Radeo 4870 and it runs many of the latest games on max settings at 100+ FPS. You could build a PC that can play every game out, except Crysis, for about $500, but you can also do many other things with your PC other than play games. I can guarentee you that these $300 and $400 video cards will be far down in price in a year or two, give or take.
