Just because a game is action oriented doesn't mean there isn't some level of strategy involved. In ME2 you can't just pump bullets into enemies untill their dead, this is especially true on harder difficulties.

Yeah you also have to crouch behind walls for 4 hours

I do understand that many console gamers do prefer a more action-oriented experience, but I feel that there are also console gamers who enjoy the old school RPG experience the DA:O brings and feel it is unfair to single them out for criticism.

The "golden age" of console gaming was

Chrono Trigger
Earthbound
etc..

the opposite of "action, dumbed down, casual" :wizard:

The only real difference between the two is the tactical overview and refined graphics. Thats not enough to win me over to thePC.additionaly I get RSI from working on a computer let alone playing on one, plus Im poor haha.

Unlike you I don't have to choose a single way of playing games.

Congrats?  We're done w/ your "my PC is uber, and I have a nice chair" posts thanks

I have a PC too, 90% of console gamers have PCs.  We just don't go schlong wagging about it

Great input. Very eloquent.

‘lol’ all you’d like, at the time Morrowind was typical of a RPGs developed solely for PC and it was later ported to console without losing any depth.

So how did you like the nearly endless mods on your xbox? Oh wait. :o

I could buy a real guitar for 100 bucks. But it would be a POS, and I can't have fun with the music with non musicians

You whining that your console version will take into account the limitations of the consoles?

There is NO LIMITATION to a console that mandates it can not have deep stragegic combat in a 4 member party wrpg

So?

Depth should come in the box.  I wouldn't rate Half-Life based on the likes of Counter Strike and Sven Co-OP, I'd judge the actual game.

Games like DA belong on PCs. You can't control them properly with console controllers. Usually these days, that means such games just aren't made anymore or the PC version is worse than it could be exactly because the developers don't want to develop two different versions. If BioWare manage to deliver a console version (because any game needs to be available on consoles these days) and a proper PC version, I would be surprised. I won't hold my breath though.

we could have, really. it wasnt our choice, nor our fault. all they needed to do was make it to were you could carry mods made on a pc to the xbox, or make an editor for xbox (wich yes, can and has been done on other games)

If anything, the fact that they're designing an entirely new console-specific system should mean the opposite of "nerf", since they're creating something customized for console, rather than dumbing down (nerfing) the PC stuff to cram into a console box.

no game belongs on any kind of system

I remember when BG was getting ported to the Dreamcast. Wish that game would have come out just to see what it would look like.

Thanks. Millions of prepubescent kids screaming down the Mic whilst playing MW2 has soured console gamers reputation. I don't even own that abomination of a game.

I long for the day when the internet gets split into LOLKIDZ and adults.   I don't hate kids, I hate kids online. :police:

Back in the day Command and Conquer played just fine on the console. And after playing the PC version I understood why. The original C&C is really, really slow.

Also Halo Wars played well for being on a console, and while C&C3 did not its expansion had a decent input system. But not enough for it to compete with a PC

LOL if you consider Famville Peggle and Sims part of the hardcore PC gamers, you need a reality check.  World of Warcraft is also a much more serious game than you are implying, along with Counterstrike.

PC games in a nutshell can be found by a program that about 1/2 of PC gamers have that tracks time:

Consoles are best for wii games, beat em up's and Madden, passive entertainment.  Outside of that FPS/RTS/MMO/SIM e.t.c.. for pc. Console ruin, very bad.

No, not at all.  Everquest Online for the PS2 is a fantastic older MMO/RPG .  Much of WoW's gameplay stole directly from EQOAF

We had a dedicated hardcore playerbase, keyboards .. the whole thing
