This thread is kind of hilarious.
Also, who the hell cares if any company sends trolls to come post random negative comments on a board -- probably less than 1% of the game's audience looks at this forum. It would have 0 effect on sales.
REAL Reasons for all the negative responses

actiVision is the leading cause of why we all appear to hate the game
How?? actiVision pays viral marketers to make accounts on competitors forums to react negatively to ea or bioware press! they post the same BS in all posts to biowares audience so THEY can attract that audience to their games.
they also pay reviewers for bad scores to other games. they will do this to SWTOR, just watch
i am in the businesss industry so i know how this works. activision plays dirtier than EA. just like hotels uusing marketers to bash other hotels on Tripadvisor.com. (i have proof)
less sales for competitors like EA!! ==== more sales for actiVision!!!
dont listen to the ****ing or the hype! all greed i tell ya
i'd believe it, my friend showed me an official new letter from the senior VP of Activision (he was holding a Video Game Guitar over his shoulder and looking impressed with himself) he said that he was going to industrialize the game industry and take the fun out of making games! .... what a ******!

Nah, Bobby Kotick is the CEO. He's like a personification of the cancer killing video gaming.

It seems pretty simple why there is a negative responce.
kotaku.com/5585473/dragon-age-2-following-in-mass-effects-footsteps
Nothing against Mass Effect, but if I want to play Mass Effect, or many of the other, streamlined console games that make up every single RPG now, I will play one of them. Dragon Age was one of the few proper CRPGs. Now it appears, it's not.

I don't put Activision completely beyond this kind of FUD generating marketing (nor do I put EA beyond it, mind you). Microsoft has been chaught red handed doing it against Gran Turismo 5, for instance.
Thought, there's a big hole in your conspiracy theory. Activision doesn't have a rival franchise to Dragon Age. Which makes spreading FUD against the DA franchise pretty much moot.
Finally, the negative comments are simply too many and too widespread. It's quite obvious that we're seeing a widely negative fan reaction and not any kind of conspiracy.
The reason? It's simple. Many of us became fans of the Dragon Age franchise because it was seen and advertised as the heir to Baldur's gate, and classic CRPGs that we miss.
Dragon Age 2 is steering away from that towards being a Mass Effect 2 with swords, sacrificing a lot of the depth and customization that made us love Baldur's Gate (and then DA:O in the first place).
Many of us simply don't care about a Mass Effect 2 with swords and see the disappearence of one of the last few classic-style CRPGs as a severe loss to the variety and diversity of the gaming market.
You may not agree, but this doesn't make your opinion more valid or heartfelt that ours. The "they disagree with me and they are many! Must be a conspiracy!" theorty falls kinda flat, I'd say.
We're very underwhelmed by Dragon Age 2 so far simply because it's moving away from what we love.

Yeeeah... posting conspiracy theories about other game publishers is not even a remotely appropriate topic for these forums. Finita la musica.
