i know im not the only one who was mad when they took away the armor and other stuff we had to pay for but the questing is are they going to let us have it back for da2 if so do we have to buy it again or will they just hand it to the people that paid for it the 1st time or say (sorry you bought the blood dragon armor in dao but that was only for one game not the expansion pack but if we make more you can buy it) i hope they are smart about the way they make this one. taking away the dialog and romance in awakening was a really bumb idea you cant talk to any one cant have a lover even if you didnt get one in doa give me some fead back let me know what you think

Why would you get armor from Dragon Age in Dragon Age 2? That doesn't make any sense.

No, for the same reason an item in ME1 wont carry over to ME2 and items from ME2 won't carry over to ME3. They are different games.

they are ment to carry the story from the start to finish thats what they said about DA.A from DAO it's a continue of the 1st part of the story not a 2nd game so with the fact that we paid for the armor and other goodies they should let us carry over and me1 and me2 of course you cant carry over your items from 1 into 2 you got blown up into lil peices and you were put back together they played the right choise there you cant carry over what went boom but in dao you dont die let us keep the dlc we paid for it with real money not gold coins or why would you bother buying it in the 1st place if i knew i i could not keep my armor from dao to the expansion i would have never got it

Whoa. That whole block of text at the beginning there was a mere two sentences. And TC's second post was ONE sentence. Tough to read.

DA2 has nothing to do with any of the characters from DA:O at this point, theres no "In game" reason why you would have a bunch of items a DIFFERENT character looted who you dont even know except from one breif encounter. Hawke is NOT the warden from DA:O, so your arguments for letting DLC Items from DA:O port over to DA2 is no reason.

DLC is meant for the Game its BOUGHT FOR, not an entire series of games.

Devs do not have all the money in the world nor do they have all the time in the world. Infact both are often in small supply.

Putting it all on the disk from the start is NOT an option. There will always be a ton of cool ideas the devs wanted in that they just had to sacrifice because there were more vital focus points.

Thus enters DLC. It's a chance for devs to include stuff they didn't have the time or money too in the first place. Or just include stuff they think will be fun and add to the overall experiance.

If you can't tell I'm very much agianst DLC bashing. It makes sense from a buisness stand point and being good devs stand point. OF COURSE that isn't saying DLC can't be abused and created for the wrong reasons.

DA:O DLC was created to enhance DA:O. You can always replay DA:O and the DLC you bought will always be there to add more to the experiance.

DA:2 is shaping up to be a VERY diffrent game and even has a diffrent character it makes no sense for DLC to carry over.

I don't think you understand the concept of DLC.

At all.

You can see,Capcom did admit that some of the DLC they send out to Resident evil 5 should have been involved from the start, thats very poor!

one day people just get enough and stop buying games if that continues

I heard one day there was a guy who asked Bioware why they continued to send them out, Bioware answered, we only send them out because people ask for them, that's poor! So what if we asked for money, would they also send money to us then? Doubt it :-)

if they send out dlc they should post somthing on the purchase page telling you it's for one game not the expansion with the same char and warn you your wasting your money or just put it in the game if it's only intended for that game

How is there anything wrong with Bioware providing products when their customers want them to provide products?  Do you have an alternative business model that you would like to share?

That's ridiculous.

They don't need to spell out IT'S FOR DRAGON AGE ORIGINS ONLY. Even though I have a feeling it actually IS spelled out like that somewhere.

When you buy DLC for a game typically it's for THAT game.

Awakening... ok... I can understand that one. I mean, if you wearing DLC armor you wake up in your underwear. It's an expansion, all your other equipment transfer over... allright. I can see why people were upset DLC didn't transfer in awakening's case. But DA:2 is a totally diffrent story.

And I don't see whats so damn complex about DA:O DLC not transfering to DA:2. It makes sense from any angle you look at it.

currently the only thins that dont transfer over to Awakening are DLC's that been out since the game came out (Warden's keep, pre order bonuses, Dragon armor, etc.) since awakening WASNT even out when the other DLC was finished.

As far as I remember the Blood Dragon Armor came as a redeemable code with DA:O and there was no way to buy it (officially at least)! So your point is inavlid, because it was delivered with the game it is supposed to be used in! And the DLC is labeled as DLC for DA:O not DA:A!

Yes i know, I just say I'm not a fan of it, and if it ends up with their games becomes shorter and shorter because there also have to be room for DLC,then I just give up buying games

Well, DAO was the longest game I've played in a while.  It's also the only game that I buy DLC for.  If it wasn't a long game to begin with, I probably wouldn't have any interest in expanding it.

But anyway, I hope that the next game is a long one as well, and that it is a good game despite all the concerns that have come up so far.  I hope its still good enough that we can both enjoy it.

It's a differnt game engine, as far as I know, so it wouldn't be very doable. Besides, with the blinding speed at which they're distancing themselves from the original game, I doubt they'd want to. As we know, the new game is better in all possible ways. The sun, itself, shines from DA2. ;)

I can think of no plausible reason Hawke would have the warden's stuff short of buying it after Zevran pawned it all when the Warden wasn't looking
