No issues with window mode, which I would actually prefer (easy switching to desk w/o crashes) now that you've introduced the /fswindow switch. However I've navigated with "screen edge" for years and that doesn't work with window mode.
I use NWN2 v1.23.1765 (MotB, SoZ) and Windows XP SP3.

Hi, same problem reported for one of our players -> when loot all is clicked only one of the items is picked up. When client extension is not used it works ok.Arkalezth wrote...
Ok, well, it's just what I described. Find a container (either a chest or similar, or an enemy's remains) with several items inside. Click on "loot all", or "take all", however the button is called.
All items should be taken from the container and placed in the inventory, but in my case, only a single item is taken, the rest remain in the container. To put it simple, I "loot one", instead of "loot all".
Player has steam version.
NWNX plugins used xp_bugfix, xp_AuroraServerNWScript, xp_fastboot
Logs (all server side and client) show nothing useful, unfortunately. It is not critical bug but certainly it is frustrating
Edit: ok, so it does not work for any player using Client Extension.

I'd like to know if Skywing has taken a look at it, though, it's been a while with no response...

Forum thread: http://social.biowar...1/index/3116438
This release includes the following features:
- Internet Server Browser functionality restored using a new master server list hosted by Skywing. Servers can participate by installing the xp_bugfix 1.0.20 or later plugin from http://www.nwnx.org/...opic.php?t=1086 . Clients running the Client Extension will automatically nominate servers unknown to the Internet Server Browser on connection for broadest community coverage. Web-based versions of the Internet Server Browser are also available; for example, visit http://www.nwnlist.com . See the readme file included in the .zip for more details.
- Self-update functionality included in the Client Extension. The Client Extension will present a message box at the main menu when a new Client Extension update is available; the user can choose to install the update directly from the game (or continue on to play without installing the update if desired).
- Included a fix from FoamBats4All for a DM client crash that can occur when opening the right-click context menu on a creature. This crash will not occur when running the Client Extension with the DM client (NWLauncher.exe -dmc).
- Fixed a problem where the game would infrequently not be started by NWLauncher.exe properly.

Is there anything similar for the first Neverwinter Nights? Particularly something restoring the server listing that gamespy dropped. "Powered by gamespy" will now forever translate to: "Don't expect the servers to run much beyond the lifespan of the game's marketing, regardless of how many people still play." I play both NWN and NWN2 and I am glad to have a list of servers restored in at least one, but it leaves me searching for it in the other.
I've provided some information to virusman about how the support in the NWN2 CE for bringing the in-game server browser list back could be backported to the NWN1 NWNCX. You might follow up with him to see if he has the time to work on that.

I think I’ve stumbled across a problem. It’s not a major issue, but just something I’ve managed to mess up all on my little lonesome (I hope). I was able to get the client to work, but now there seems to be an issue. I have been using the NWLauncher (ver.1.0.0.22) which was showing me the adjusted Internet service browser as expected (ie. Server list popping up, chat etc) and all was just fine yesterday, but today it is not working.
When launching NWN2 via the client’s NWLauncher the games starts as expected, the multiplayer log in screen has a longer then usual wait time before Connection Status (“skipping auth”) window comes up, and after logging into “Internet Games” no games are listed. The Internet Service Browser functionality appears to not be working.
Next, when attempting to log into a server from my favorites, or history list, presents an additional issue. It does find the server, attempts to log in, and give the “Connected to server” message, though at this point, it locks up until I get kicked with a “You have been disconnected” message.
Not closing NWN2 and the client repeats the same “skipping auth” message box, going to “join internet game” restarts the Internet Service Browser, but this time, instead of showing a blank/empty server list, the browser starts in the “History” tab and the “Internet” tab is grayed out and I received the “unknown error” pop up window.
Within the history tab, the server is showing up and running, with several players (over 20) logged in, so I am guessing that the server did not have a crash at the time of my first log in attempt above.
Attempting to connect and log into the server from the History tab shows the same results. Connected to server – wait – wait – get booted “You have been disconnected”
One can repeat this cycle as often as you like, and it occurs with multiple servers.
So, in a nutshell, here are the steps –
Initial attempt
NWLauncher -> Multiplayer -> Sign In (failed auth, skip) -> Join Internet Game (internet service browser empty of servers) -> Favorites Tab -> Connected to Server (hang) -> You Have Been Disconnected (boot to main screen)
Re-attempt
Multiplayer -> Sign In (failed auth, skip) -> Join Internet Game (internet service browser empty of servers, internet tab grayed out) -> Favorites Tab -> Connected to Server (hang) -> You Have Been Disconnected (boot to main screen)
The nwn2reportlog.log reads –
----------
Log set to "g:\\neverwinter nights 2\\nwn2reportlog.log".

What information can I send you to possible assist in tracking down this issue? What silly/foolish/stupid thing might I have done to cause this issue?
Thanks Skywing, we all know you have done more for this game and community than can ever be truly accounted for

P.S. I am able to log in and play on a server (via history/favorites/direct connect) without the client AND am able to get then apply the client after starting NWN2 normally (right-click the ClientExtension.hdl file, and choose the 'Apply') and all features of the client work normally.

When you are launching NWN2 with NWLauncher.exe, does the CE console window appear (and does it say version 1.0.0.22 at the top of the scroll back buffer)?
If you launch the game directly with nwn2main.exe, then use the context menu Apply option on the .hdl file, what behavior do you observe with the server browser?
Additionally, the following would be helpful to know :
* Are you forcing the game client to run elevated? (Not recommended.)
* Is this the Steam version of NWN2 or the non-Steam version?

- I am unsure as to what it means to force the game client to run elevated, so I do not believe I am doing so? *shrug*
- I am using a disk loaded updated version of NWN2 1.23.1765
- The CE console does appear telling me version 1.0.0.22 - built Dec 22 2012 10:22:59
- When I launch the game directly via nwn2main.eve and then apply ClientExtension.hdl, the Client Extension Console pops up normally, the browser works, showing servers, chatroom etc, and I am able to log in to play normally (well normal for me means using the client extension as I have been for quite some time now). this second method works just fine for me, I'm just not sure what has happened or what I have done to not make the NWNLauncher work correctly *shrug*
- the log above was a new clean log I created when the issue came up, and I was able to recreate it, instead of posting the quite log old log that has been created over time while I've been playing the game successfully before this odd-ball issue. Below is a link to a longer log showing an attempt to log in via NWLauncher, then via the .hadl applied
link removed

Can you verify that :
- The registry values "Path" and "Location" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Obsidian\\NWN 2\\Neverwinter really point to the correct install path for your game install (looks to be "g:\\neverwinter nights 2" based on the log)? If you are running 64-bit Windows, these values will be under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Wow6432Node\\Obsidian\\NWN 2\\Neverwinter. You can use Regedit.exe to check these.
- Did you previously use an earlier CE release and, if so, was the CE functionality working when started with NWLauncher.exe from the older version (versus using the context menu Apply option)?
- Finally, the following would help gather additional information as to what is going on. Start the game with the CE 1.0.0.22 NWLauncher, then go to Task Manager. Find the nwn2main.exe process, right click it, and choose the 'Create dump file option' (this assumes that you are running Windows 7 or later - let me know if you are running an older OS). Once that finishes, you should be told the path to the dump file; zip that up and PM me a link to it, and I should be able to take a closer look at what the issue might be.

I just downloaded the Client Extension today to try and play multiplayer, but I can't seem to connect to the server listing.
I downloaded the zip file, unzipped to my desktop and launched the NWLauncher. Clicked multiplayer, logged in, and selected join internet game. Then it comes up and says connecting to GameSpy, it shows this three times before saying it was unable to connect and to try again.
This is what the log shows:
Log set to "c:\\program files\\atari\\neverwinter nights 2\\nwn2reportlog.log".

- Registry path HKEY__LOCAL_MACHINE\\Obsidion\\NWN2\\Neverwinter is pointing to G:\\Neverwinter Nights 2 which is where I am running the game from.
- I am running Windows XP Pro (32)
- I used to run a pervious version of the CE, but I have no idea how old that version or release was (prior to GameSpy dropping NWN support) and I had no issues using the NWLauncher
- I went Microsoft and got the user dump utility and followed their directions to create a dump file (wow big file, kinda a lot to look through) 7ziped it up and sent you a PM for download. If I need to create another dump with specific extensions, just let me know
Thanks Skywing

I will add a fallback mode that will switch back to the old mechanism if the new one isn't successful, which should restore parity with the behavior you saw in previous releases. I'll drop you a PM shortly with a test build; as this doesn't repro on my machines, I'd appreciate it if you could give it a shot and confirm the results.

- Added a +connect [server-address] (and optional +password [server-pw])
argument to NWLauncher.exe. These allow you to create a shortcut to directly
connect to a PW from the desktop. You can connect as a DM, too, by using the
-dmc argument as well. For example:
NWLauncher.exe +connect pw.example.org
NWLauncher.exe +connect private-pw.example.org +password playerpw
NWLauncher.exe +connect pw.example.org +password dmpw -dmc
- Fixed an issue where NWLauncher.exe was not fully applying the CE patches on
some systems (but right-click Apply was still working).

The reason I ask is that I retyped my entire examine panel on a Haven character into a text file so that I can use the >setbio command they have there as maintaining it in an external text file is far easier to manipulate. Much to my chagrin I just found that the amount able to be imported is far less than what can actually fit when you add it manually IG. I am assuming that the issue is the client extension limiting the field as when I up arrow doskey style to the see my previous chat line my bio is is now cut off though there was no size issue reported when I pasted it in!
