Alistair Romance Problems?

Alistair was absolutely lovely to romance in the beginning of the game but things have come to a full stop now.
I fear the romance has been "completed" which strikes me as odd as I still have a ton of content to tackle.
At the start of the game I learned not to trigger Alistair too much in order for the romance to be more natural with him triggering scenes at certain areas or by talking to him and getting a scene to trigger. So I took things rather slow.
Now...as far as his romance has gone, a scene triggered a Lothering, afterwards one at Redcliffe with his confession about his bastard status, got a rose, the whole caring about you thing, and finally he asked to spend the night with my character, I did his sidequest too and since I saw the whole Redcliffe thing through, he was opted to be king by the arl and now it's done?
I've picked up Wynne while all of the above took place and she had 2 comments in her dialogue to me about the romance. I picked up Zevran because I figured it would trigger some funny scenes between him and Alistair.
But alas nothing happens. I can have my way with Zevran and Alistair does not respond, he doesn't care if I flirt with Zev, doesn't care if I bed him even. There is no banter between him and Zev at all and even Wynne has never bantered with Alistair either.
I figured to stop with the side questing and head to the Dalish to advance the main storyline but there's nothing coming out of Alistair cept the smallish comments on my quest choices but nothing romantically. So I still have to do all of the Dalish stuff, still have to go to the dwarves, have tons of stuff left to do in Denerim but currently I'm not up for it. The game feels a lot colder now and makes me wonder if something went wrong.
Alistair is at 100 but that's easily accomplished and shouldn't get a full stop on the romance right:? Should I have told him it was all too soon to stretch it out a little and get more banter or at least a jealous reaction out of him? Or is his romance completed until I have gone through all the content and end up at the Landmeet?
I refuse to believe the last since I have so much left to do. Alistair just isn't acknowledging much now, no more dorking around on his part or anything..it's done?
So once you bed him and tell him you love him too the romance is over for the rest of the game till you get to Landmeet which I'm sure will trigger something (never been there yet)?
If that's the case, this romance sure feels short. I probably shouldn't have gone through the whole Redcliffe plot then eh? But it just felt like the thing to do as a human noble and after seeing Alistairs concerns on the matter.
Please, is this normal?

Too bad though, really had hoped the romance would not come to a hold like this for the time being. Wishful thinking on my part, even after having played so many Bioware games.

The funny part was after ignoring me for hours the second we are back in camp he tells me he wants to sleep with me. I was so not in the mood.
But I was afraid that would mean no more conversations EVAR so ...

It's kinda fun, though, as I became a closer friend to Leliana. I never, ever said I wanted to be more than friends. I think I denied her three times. Then all of a sudden she realizes that "hey, she loves Alistair" and becomes jealous and asks me if all the things I've told her were lies. That made me facepalm.

"Your wish?...."
or if we're in camp:
"your desire is my command"
He's talked/hinted about long-term, but worried that our duties might come int he way. Honestly, though, Wynn at first, she was trying to warn me that one of us might get hurt, but then she said she thought she had misread the situation and that she thought we were very dedicated to one another... but you never know where duty will get in the way.
So I talked to Alistair about it and when I used the line "so long as we love each other, that's all that matters" and he said "Is it? What about Duty..."blah blah... Then "I dont' really want to talk about this right now. (But in a very sweet, almost heartbroken way.
I came back after doing a few things at camp (you know, inventory management) and just walked up to him and selected the "private" option... which gives me the option to just kiss. So I did that. He seemed quite content with that, and my character and he appear to be on very good terms.
Personally, I've never seen a more believable, realistic, romance in a game and it's a little blowing my mind how real-life it seems.
Alistair has never, ever stopped being gentle, kind and warm to my character. He even called me "My love" the last time I opened dialog with him.
I don't know how I've chosen the dialog...it's a game-wide thing...little things on little things on little things. I just realized that I like his character, and I wanted my character to like his character. It has more depth than any virtual experience I've ever seen. Whoever wrote that, feel free to call me:) I'll have an internet love affair with you.

They may not say anything right away, but at some point they'll get really ticked off and ask you about it, then make you choose. At this point, you're probably going to break one of their hearts and lose a bunch of approval points. So if you don't want that to happen, I'd suggest "ending it" with the one you're not interested in beforehand. That way you don't have to deal with the inevitable fallout later.

I swear, sometimes I feel like the only woman who dislikes Alistair. You see charming, gentle, and funny. I see childish, petty and fickle.
I romanced Alistair, because it simply fitted my PC's character. But personaly... His discussion with Morrigan, where he told her she is stupid because she doesn't know what was the name of Andraste's... well, somebody, made me think "OMG, you ARE an idiot, that's so sad".
At least I haven't made him a king.

Nope, I can't stand him either. If his voice actor didn't have such a sexy voice, Alistair would stay in camp to watch the fire in every playthrough.

His voice is indeed mega sexy.
I mean, there are appealing things about Alistair.. very appealing.. but he's not a grown up.

Actually, I'm with him on this one. That wasn't a very stupid question at all. She tried to say it was a religious question, not an academic one, but I disagree.
Whether Andraste was the bride of the maker or just a deluded and very powerful mage, she existed. Maferath (he to whom you are referring if I remember the question correctly), also existed. It's a matter of historical fact. Not ONLY is it a matter of historical fact, but those events (Andraste's war on the imperium and Maferath's betrayal of her) RESHAPED civilization.
It was a perrfectly valid question and Morrigan was just being a shrew.

In Mass Effect it worked because you could only advance based on the number of main story missions you had done, and then you spent the night with your lover (violating regs if it is Ashley or Kaiden) as you are flying off to what may be certain doom on a stolen starship.
They .. sort of did this with Zevran, forcing you to be unable to really complete his romance until late.. but that doesn't work either, because you can get to the point where it's READY for that very early.
I am hoping in Dragon Age 2 that they use a combination of timing based conversations and the approval system.. but there should definitely be more to the romance after ****ing, I mean, making love *cough* .. seriously.
On the other hand it does give you some interesting options. The game takes place over roughly the span of a year, so you have a chance to start and complete or nearly complete one romance, break up, and then start another without being constrained by another system.
I suppose it's a matter of pacing yourself.. but if you are new to the game and don't know how long the romance is, good luck.
EDIT: Speaking of Kaiden, I miss him. He is a real man. If they screw anything about him up in ME3 I will bring down the fires of heaven upon BioWare in the form of a strongly worded letter and an offering of cheese.

Morrigan i just really dont much care for. I don't really know why though, I think its she is always a nay sayer.. not much fun nay sayers....But all in all I think they picked a good variety of different personalities for the companions. Good and bad qualities which make it seem more real, if they were all cheery and friendly it wouldn't seem real life now would it? Can't alway pick who you want to go into battle with, there is always someone you DONT get along with haha.
