It's probably not gonna happen for a couple of years.. But I do wish they finished it up, I can only imagine how KOTOR looks on the 360 or a newer xbox, it would be pretty sweet.

Alas, I doubt we shall see a KOTOR 3. We can infer from the fact SW:TOR is actually happening that Revan failed, and got killed in the unkown regions.

According to Obsidian's CEO they would like to make us a KOTOR 3 if Lucas Arts lets them. Would be an instant buy for me.

Here's the link: http://kotor3.net/20...old-republic-3/

Article is from 2 years ago and they say in the article that the MMO would not happen,  but it is G4 so what can you do.

Haha, a KOTOR 3 would be a nice game to see. It wouldn't even have to be a direct sequel. There were thousands of Jedi Knights and Jedi Masters that the library and holocrons of the Jedi Temple were supposed to have catalouged. Why not focus on one of them? Surely there are other Jedi who had a crazy life and broke the rules lol. Oh, but to dream =)

I don't mind to see more good games, but I'm not so sure is kotor 3 good idea. I played Kotor 1 and it was nice story. Now I play Kotor 2 at the moment and it's little different, but not much. I mean the interface and combat style is pretty old (D&D). If they would make new Star Wars game, then make it with totally new game style.

While it would be possible to wiggle a third KotOR into the huge gap between KotOR II and TOR, I don't see it happening. The decision ultimately lies with LucasArts, and they haven't been making the greatest of decisions regarding the Star Wars license in recent years. We've had what, one big budget Star Wars game in the last several years? And it's not like the Force Unleashed was particularly good, the storyline had promise but the gameplay left much to be desired. Most Star Wars games aside from TFU have been budget bin material that LucasArts has been charging full price for.

I believe it's possible that we'll eventually see a proper KotOR III, but I won't hold my breath since the storyline that Obsidian was setting up for KotOR III is being used in TOR. What else would KotOR III be about? KotOR II setup the True Sith, and both Revan and the Exile went off into the Unknown Regions to fight them. TOR is centered around the True Sith's invasion of the Republic is it not? I'm not sure what KotOR III could do other than show how Revan and the Exile died to buy the Republic time.

TOR the MMO is KoTOR 3. It's been said in as many words by Bioware and Lucas Arts. Seriously look it up. They just went the MMO route instead. Like how Final Fantasy franchise went MMO with FF11 and how they are doing it again with FF14. It's how things are going. Get over it already.

Well I was on TOR website and came across this new video which pretty much ruins the Kotor 1 story and also makes it impossible to do a Kotor 3 with Revan or around this story.

http://www.swtor.com...andalorian-wars

edit: also click on the timeline link to the Jedi Civil Wars. (don't know how to link it) Apparently the Emperor ordered Revan and Malak to find the Star Maps and go after the Star Forge that was constructed 25 centuries earlier by the Rakata.

Looks like the Emperor that was set up for the TOR that takes place 300 years after Kotor is alive during the Kotor timeline and apparently Revan and Malak found him and fell to the dark side through him which doesn't make any sense to me. I always thought it was implied that Revan and Malak began falling to the Dark Side before the Mandalorian Wars or around the beginning when they discovered the Star Map on Dantoonie. Unless it's suppose to be that they went to the Mandalorian Wars then found the Sith Empire fell to the Dark Side then went to Dantoonie. Oh my god this just boggles my mind.

Pretty sure the Rakata constructed the Star Forge 25k years before and that it doesn't make sense that this Sith Empire couldn't attack with Revan and Malak and to let them have something as powerful as the Star Forge. Or not use the Star Forge themselves to construct their fleet.

The video also, said Revan was responsible for Malachor V, but the Exile is the one who gave the order to fire the Mass Shadow Generator

That is very confusing to say the least and I also, thought it was implied they fell to the Dark Side when they found the first star map

I would rather se that they made a new KOTOR with the story about Exar Kun and the Sith Wars before all that happened with Revan and Malac... just like the stories in the Black Horse Comics!

Probably not gonna happen because KotOR 3 is cancelled. They started with it somewhere late 2004/early 2005 but LucasArts got into financial problems in early 2005 and they couldn't afford it to continue development.

I'd be happy if they just finished KOTOR 2. For the first two thirds of the game I kept thinking, "I can't wait to play this again."   After suffering through the mess they made of the final scenes, I have never given it a second run.

when the first mass effect game came out and some of my classmates were talking about it one of them always mentioned that the reason why kotor 3 was not made was because while they were in production bioware lost the rights to lucasarts to make it. instead of letting those resources go to waste that they spent on kotor 3 they recycled as much as they could and made it into mass effect

revan was the one who set the trap for the mandalorians to come to mandalor, if i remember correctly. the exile was the one incharge of the fleet that was stationed there and told bao dur to flip the switch.

as for my understanding is that revan and malak found the first star map after the mandalorian wars. revan knew about "the true sith" and knew of the threat they possessed to the galaxy and knew that something had done to defeat them. when they found the star forge revan knew it was a weapon they could use it to defeat the true sith. but there was a problem. the star forge used the dark side of the force and therefore only one adept in the ways of the dark side (the sith) could control it. so revan and malak went to the dark side to be able to control it. when revan was learning as much as he could about the dark side he learned that the power of the dark side is much like a pie. the more sith there are the less of the pie there is for everyone else so the more sith there are the less powerful each individual is. he attempted to use this to his advantage by turning jedi to the dark side and therefore weaken the true sith. malak though could not protect himself from the corruption of the dark side and completely turned and he betrayed revan.

and some things to note that if you talked to kriea she talks to you about how revan, during his conquest of the republic did not attack prime targets such as factories and military fortresses and if he did he did all that was possible to leave them intact so when the true sith eventually attacked the republic will still be able to rely on them.

its a heavy case of irony. revan saved the republic by bringing it to the brink of destruction. there are some plot holes and from my understanding is that they would have been filled in kotor 3 which made me very disappointed to hear that it wasn't going to be made:( i want to know more about revan's story, i'm a big revan fanboy... and seriously i'm going to fight with whoever is my significant other to the death to name my first born son revan, i'm that big of a fanboy

I think the story of The Exile doesn't get as much credit as it deserves. For one, Obsidian hadn't played the first game when they started development on the second, so a lot of the plot line had to be created without a knowledge base.

With that said, I think they did a great job... allowing for the fact that they had to push it out WAY ahead of schedule due to pressure from LucasArts. Conceptually the plot was awesome in KotoR 2, it just never had the chance to be fully realized. Even with the restored content it's too little... too late.

However, purely based on the tie-in with Revan, the Jedi Civil War, and Malachor V, I think there is a lot of potential to develop that storyline in the future. I also doubt we'll see KOTOR 3 in as such, but I could definitely see the Exile's storyline being integrated into TOR.

To thepiebaker, my only issue with that interpretation is that the canon Revan "the redeemer" destroys the Star Forge. If it was so dangerous that it had to be destroyed, why try to use it in the first place? An altruistic ulterior motive just doesn't hold water (for me anyway) given the context. It makes more sense to me that Revan/Malak found the Sith Empire, were exposed to the power of the Dark Side and all that, and went after the Star Forge for their own personal gain.

Revan then got the brainwash treatment, and his canon Light Side persona asserted itself, and he righted his actions. I could certainly be mistaken, however.

BTW if anyone is interested, go to wookiepedia and read up on the Sith Empire, or True Sith. It's a pretty detailed and interesting history.

I see a lot of people putting down TOR because its a mmorpg. Bioware also made clear that you can play the game all by yourself just like the original KOTORs.

Yeah, I don't like MMO's as a general rule, but I'll play TOR for awhile just to see how much story is actually in the game. Since it's the same writers as KOTOR, I have pretty high hopes.

Of course it would be amazing!!!!--I don't think any Bioware fan would contest that, but this topic has been done and been done and been done before by fans across the world.

Even if they made a KotOR 3, I don't think it could manage to live up to anyone's expectations unfortuantly; not because it would be a bad game but because people have been speculating for so long that anything they produce wouldn't be big enough I think.

Doubtful it would ever happen though considering they're making the MMO: a subject that I see has been raised in point before.
