[KotorEffect3]

I've been wanting a KOTOR 3 for as long as I can remember but I don't think we are getting it which is too bad. KOTOR got me into bioware games in the first place. In many ways the Mass Effect trilogy is what the KOTOR trilogy could have been. I will admit I am curious enough about the MMO where I might actualy purchase it but I have never played an MMO and I am a console gamer so I would most likely suck at it (well at first anyway)

well they are pumping everything in the mmo. so kotor 3 wont happen.because kotor is being play out in the mmo. .. if they ever make a new stand alone time of star wars game with the people of bioware behide it. they willl be doing a reboot or a whole new version.

No a reboot just another time period. and about what happens with Revan is going to be told in a coming book and I think there is a storyline in SWTOR about that, so doubt there will be a kotor 3, beside that decision doesn't belong to Bioware but to Lucas Arts, no company can make a Star Wars game without Lucas approval

The Revan book is the closest thing to a KotOR 3 we will ever get. And the TOR MMO has been quoted as being called "kotor 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8..." etc. The book is all you will get. You won't ever get KotOR 3 unless in about 20 years in the future something amazing happens and they reboot the series. Even then, it won't truly be KotOR 3, as the MMO is... well... yeah. *sigh*

The Old Republic game is brilliant. They cannot make KOTOR3 now due to story but if you play the Jedi Knight Character on SWTOR it's practically KOTOR3 anyway. I never played an MMO before and yes i was annoyed when it got announced but after playing SWTOR i actually prefer it.

Why couldn't they make a 3rd kotor. I remember being so hyped when people were speculating, and then I got pissed when I found out it was cancelled.

i want kotor 3, tor be damed, them not finishing.... series... well now that i think about it... look at how they ended the mass effect series... maybe it's best just to leave it be.

If there is a demand for it, Then maybe. Don't forget that a good business company is about making money. And if there is money for a Kotor 3, Then they will do it.

we should go to the Lucas Arts website to give tell them that we the paying fan base is wanting a KOTOR 3 and hope that Bioware gets to make/finish the game since they did an excellent job with KOTOR 1 (and lets hope that EA does not rush things like they did or that Lucas Arts rushes them) for I for one would love to see the 3rd in the series gets made/finished. P.S. I'm heading over to the Lucas Arts site to try to get them to fund the development of this game.

we do need to have a cohesive idea for what we want for Kotor 3. Well it would be good to have good synergy between Kotor 1, 2 and 3.

For example, having Kotor 1 special edition(with acknowledgement that Kotor 2 gameplay and storyline), Then Kotor 3 should clear up Arren Kae/Kreia situation, Revan's romance or non romance, Bastila getting married to a nice guy(depend if you romanced her or not), Act 1 should have Revan saving his friends and helping them with their lives. Then Act 2 Revan moves on.

I think they should just make the damn game already. Kotor 2 and 1 is what got me into rpgs. Both of the games are classics. Despite TSLs problems its still a classic. I still replay both games every once in a while.

While I don't see a KotOR 3 happening because of TOR I don't see a reason why they shouldn't remake 1 and 2 in full HD goodness

Neither one can do so without a contract from Lucas Arts, and I don't think that Bioware cares to be connected with Lucas Arts regarding any game other than ToR -- the potential profit on a successful MMO is huge.

I don't really see a game happening. But that KotOR3 that was cancelled, i read that was pretty far along. Allot of art, script, & work already there. Maybe enough there for a book even, something that gathers all that gold together & presents it to us fans in a way that would have shown the games direction & how the previous two would have fit. Details on the creative process behind it, Bioware employee stories about working on the games. Might not provide closure for every fan, but I think that atleast would great!

Since KOTOR 3 isn't going to happen, why not a new Star Wars CRPG? It could be set in the Old Republic era. There are some eras that would be great to tell stories in like the Hundred-Year Darkness or the events leading up to it. Or they could set the game in the post-Original Trilogy Expanded Universe, like the NJO or Legacy Era (although with the recent purchase of the franchise by Disney and the announcement of Episodes VII-IX, this might prove tricky).

My point is that the galaxy is a huge place and Star Wars boasts a timeline that encompasses thousands upon thousands of years.
