I don't think that Bioware cares to be connected with Lucas Arts regarding any game other than ToR -- the potential profit on a successful MMO is huge.

The place to take all this wishful messaging is here:

forums.lucasarts.com

It is not at all a friendly web site at present.  Perhaps Disney's influence may rub off on the snotty Lucas people they've inherited, now.

Of course, they'll need to fix all the bad programming code, first.  I just tried to log in there, and either they lost my account, or they can't deal with member database aging properly.  So I tried to get them to tell me what to do by telling them I'd forgotten my password, but that part is broken beyond usability.

Since KOTOR 3 isn't going to happen, why not a new Star Wars CRPG? It could be set in the Old Republic era. There are some eras that would be great to tell stories in like the Hundred-Year Darkness or the events leading up to it. Or they could set the game in the post-Original Trilogy Expanded Universe, like the NJO or Legacy Era (although with the recent purchase of the franchise by Disney and the announcement of Episodes VII-IX, this might prove tricky).

My point is that the galaxy is a huge place and Star Wars boasts a timeline that encompasses thousands upon thousands of years.

Agreed, even without characters from kotor or kotor2 there is great scope for a new game. Maybe they will explore this eventually.

So long as it doesn't mess up existing characters, like TOR did.

Good luck with that, it seems like a nice project!

I will have to rule myself out though. Not your fault, but I hate the Revan book and what it did. Hate, hate, hate. Hate.

So I am ignoring it and pretending it was never written. I would be interested in a game that ignored that part of the canon though, or at least handwaved it.
