I am tempted to make several different threads with more focused discussions. Like Kotor 1 Remake Character Content(New Characters joining the cast and Newer Content for Old Characters), and Another dedicated to classes(adding new classes and improving old classes)

Persona 4 Golden was a port (well, an improved port), and it worked well. Final Fantasy X will work well, too. Why Bioware does not make ports of past games for Vita ? Doesn't look it would require a lot of investment and surely they would get good results.

Persona 4 Golden is a (improved) port and it has sold more than 300.000 copies.Vita users are eager for RPGs, whether japanese or western. And Sony users have not seen this game, unless they made it on PC or Xbox. It would almost be a new release for many of them.
Honestly I don't see a great business selling an improved game to the same target of users. That was the reason for the Ipad port: open the game to a new audience. Sure, many fans, like you and me, would buy the remake, but I doubt they would be enough to make it profitable; that's what matters to companies, not the happiness of fans, I'm afraid.
This would be one realistic plan, imo, to bring new life to The Old Republic Saga and stimulate new Star Wars RPGs, after KOTOR 2 and TOR, which results were not the expected, I think.

Neither DnD nor Wizards ever had any direct relationship to either KotOR game. They share the games' ENGINE only; neither Lucas nor Wizards nor the original owners of the D&D/AD&D franchise ever had any relationship. Lucas, however, was so difficult to work with, that Bioware refused to consider involvement with KotOR2. Obsidian also came to wish never to have agreed to be involved. Bioware's owners were so irritated that they refused to allow KotOR2 topics on the Legacy Forums, and not even the BSN has ever had any KotOR2 forums, although Lucas apparently made the MMO type game idea sound good enough to give that a try after all. Threads about the KotOR2 topic no longer get locked down in here these days (but SWtOR topics do).metatheurgist wrote...
There's a huge difference between FF and KOTOR. SE own everything about FF, they can do whatever they want with it. KOTOR uses 3.5 DnD rules owned by Wizards of the Coast who have no interest in seeing it make a comeback. The Star Wars game licence is in limbo at the moment, that would be owned by Lucas Arts so it's probably Disney's domain now. Bioware own the game itself and they're now owned by EA who are unlikely to work with Disney. Nevermind that Bio have adopted a position of no games based on someone else's IP.

It doesn't need a remake too badly. Gameplay is still smooth and very good, it's not terribly buggy. The in-game cutscenes and visuals/animations can be drastically improved I guess, but there are plenty of other games that should be remade before KOTOR such as the Baldur's Gate series (full 3D remake with camera options like DAO/NWN, overhauled gameplay, not a simple remastering like Enhanced Edition), Neverwinter Nights (it's just so damn clunky by today's standards), and everything from Black Isle Studios.

I would love a remake of the Old games, they are the games I've played most in over a decade now.
New graphics, new quests, new armors and new weapons.
I would scream like a little girl when she get's a pet unicorn.
But most of all I would like a 3rd game.
Not this MMO. It's a good MMO but you just can't feel that you are the person it's all about.
In the old games... You really changed the face of the galaxy. You saved planets from annihilation.
You were THE ONE!
In the first one you were one of the mightiest force users ever born. One with ambition, power, knowledge and skill.
You were Revan... Our Lord. But you were broken, cast out, betrayed. And you still fought against the odds and won.
You became the leader of a powerful group and you made your mark in star wars history.
In the second you were the Exile (otherwise called Mira Suljic) One who were the complete opposite of Revan in terms of the force. You were like a hole, sucking in the force, devouring it. You fought or allied yourself with the last Jedi's and prevailed against three of the mightiest Sith Lords ever. And you were the main-character, you felt like you were.
In the MMO... cannot even describe it... Yes you get a story, yes you get to loot and level up your gear.
But it's never really about YOU and your role in the galaxy. We wanted a third game to know what happened.
But all we got was: You are one of many, you don't matter. That's how I felt.
Imagine if Bioware and Obsidian would make remakes and then a 3rd game.
Then I would play and then never again feel so happy.
One thing I liked about the MMO though were the choices of race and class.
If they had that in the 3rd... And they linked the stories together so you could see a pattern and a bigger picture of the sith/jedi war. That would make me smile.
Like the origin stories from Dragon Age. But this is all fantasy and no 3rd game will ever come... Cuz EA are D*cks and only want to make money.
I salute Bioware for making the best out of the situation and really tried to give us a MMO with a story.
But we all know what we would like more. A real Knights of the old republic. Both remakes. And a sequel to those.
Obsidian And Bioware. If you ever break free from the chains of the greedy EA overseer. Please do this for us fans.
We love you. And we know you want to make us smile again. You have shown it with all of your games.
Make us proud.

I don't know how much this means exactly but it does show that we aren't the only ones hoping for a remake. http://www.ign.com/a...lic-anniversary

that is cool. i had a dream of a Kotor Trilogy that was beautifully rendered; darker tone and much scarier. More Characters. More weapons, force abilities, feats, more useful skills, new classes, new enemies, stronger enemies and new lore on everything.

Just curious if they have a internal plotline that you can relive Revan's past at each planets that is just as long as the main plotlines. Also You can develop your Jedi Exile and your Revan fully. Would you play it if it would unlock more content in the main quest?
In that above Reference idea, there was a hidden character creator in Revan's memories for the Jedi Exile, Well the Jedi Exile will speak Twilek in the each of the scene but you will choose her look, her gender, her abilities and class. Given how you treat her will reflect her alignment at the beginning of Kotor 2 and how far you can level her. No matter what, other people will always refer her as Surik.
What I did carry her within Kotor 2 and 3,
Bianca Surik,
Height:5'11''
Weight: 145
Jedi Class: Jedi Sentinel/Jedi Shadow
Fighting Style: Tesai Kersi
Favorite Lightsaber form: Shii-Cho, Mahaski and Soresu
Favorite Force Form: Force Channel and Force Potency
Hair: Thick, Wavy Dark Brown/Black Knee Length Hair
Skin: Pale
Eyes: Blue
Body Type: Curvy
Alignment: Light
Revan Romance: Yes
Reaction of Revan Falling to the Dark Side: Disappointment
Some of my newer ideas did come from a Dream I had and Kotor Trilogy was well done. Also how they treated Revan and Jedi Exile was improved a great deal. All 3 Games were huge very huge.

I came to this forum for this reason alone. Kotor's the best game I've played by this company, but it's the WORST optimized. It barely gets along with the OS it's designed for, and it doesn't work at all with newer OS. I'm in the midst of bashing by head into the desk trying to get it to work, and it's just not worth it.
This game is better than anything in the mass effect series. At least keep it working with modern computers, please.

Don't just remake it, but streamline it with completed and revised TSL. This kills two birds with one stone, while also opening an awesome lead into Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3...
But that would make too much sense and bring joy to millions around the world (not to mention millions to EA/BioWare, Disney/LucasArts, Apple/Microsoft, Nintendo/Sony, & VHS/Beta Max as well... Um, ok the first two examples anyway.)
Give me Jade Empire 2: "The Baker Bay Lords" or Give Me Death!"

that is a major part of the remake should have. Just curious, Darth Fooley, if you had the chance within Kotor 1 to make your Jedi Exile in the way you want too and carry the Jedi Exile into Kotor 2? One of my ideas is having Revan/player play thru several of Revan's memories of each of the planets he visited in Kotor 1 and a few new planets and have Jedi Exile appear with a lower face mask that speaks an alien language. OF course there will be Arren Kae and Kreia in the same room together talking to you. Also you can influence if Revan has simple anmesia or being brainwashed by the Jedi Council if you do the Memories or not.
I have idea that involves Seviole, a former student of Revan and a Jedi Shadow that is reaching out to him to hunt down a very Powerful Krath High Priest and dismantle the Krath Cult.
Yes I do want Kotor 1 to be expanded in both game mechanics and storyline. I know each of us has our favorite Kotor 1 character. So why not expand on them. I do like the idea of the switch style mechanic of Kotor 2 and apply it to Kotor 1. I do have several good ideas for Kotor 3 and make the fans happy at the same time concerning Revan and Jedi Exile.

I bought the C&C collection for a couple of games so they would run on a newer computer without a bunch of hassles.
I would gladly buy KotOR 1 & 2 + expansions the same way. Bonus if I can add the soundtrack to my iTunes.

I think a KotOR remake based off the TOR engine might work. Hell, make it an expansion for TOR. You can just re-use all the voice-work.
The game itself has aged remarkably well. Really, only the graphics are bad. I have it for the Xbox and iPad.

Just curious, if it has near photo realistic graphics, intensive character customization(able to have young to old, short to tall, small to large frame, muscle tone, hair length[ankle length hair to bald],able to re create your favorite Bioware characters, would you like that?
For example, you can re create T.I.M from Mass Effect your male Revan. or re create Jack from ME. Or Duncan from Dragon Age.
Just curious, what martial arts styles do you want to see?
what new classes you want to see?
True there is the 7 classical Lightsaber styles, What if you can unlock new Lightsaber forms if you combine A lightsaber form and a force form to create something new?
For example, The majority of the Jedi Shadows come from the Jedi Sentinel(yes there are Jedi Consulars and potential Jedi Guardians that are Jedi Shadows as well), so to build a Jedi Shadow styled Jedi Character, use a stealth feat tree to unlock(regardless if it is a base class or a Jedi Class) Jedi Shadow class/specialization when you are able to become a Jedi at Dantioone.
True Bastila is captured by Malak at the Leviathan, If you have 1 new character to replace her post Leviathan scene what type of character do you want?
