Thank god they're doing a different combat system.

I can honestly say Dragon Age had the worst combat system out of any rpg I've ever played. It was like trying to play KotOR like Fable. Speaking of KotOR, I hope that's what they change the combat to.
Please go back to modern warfare 2, or better yet, go to hell, its where you rightfully belong.

Wow, way to murder my brain cells.
No, really, this is the most idiotic thing I've seen all day.
You are completely wrong.
Good day, sir.

LOL mw2 comment made me laugh.
seriously though, call of duty games prey on idiots, as does their creator. they are vastly sub par compared to other shooters.
i think the "historical/warfare sim" shooters should have their own catagory. putting them with the other fps games makes them look like they are made for retards, wich..well they are.

I feel really insulted by having the combat changes. It's like "Oh you want the core combat you loved? Should have picked a better platform. Go **** yourself." It really makes me sad

It is entirely possible that the combat on the consoles will still be tactical. As it is now, it is pretty much an epicly gimped version of the combat system on the PC version.
I know that and I want the PC version, my issue is funds. I was so happy to have DAO's combat (gimped as it is) because it was very old school RPG. Bioware is the only company that still gives gamers like me an avenue. I'm hoping they change their mind.

I wasn't trying to be nasty. I just wanted to express my sadness. I loved how DAO was a PC RPG for a fan who couldn't afford to upgrade their PC. I'm just hoping I don't lose that. Bioware is the last bastion of Single player, RPG lovers.

Don't get your hopes up.
As I said on another thread.
"God damnit, now I'm going to have to upgrade my computer to get DA2 on the PC." This game better be worth the $1000 or so, along with the end of any continuity in my dragon age games.

Your reasoning is flawed. You can't blame a game for not running on your computer. If you have to buy a new computer, it is either your fault, if it could have/should have been upgraded, or nobody is at fault.

Problem with combat balance and exploitation, this should be fixed, not entirely changed. Still take it any day over Oblivion, Fable and other super dumbed down console fun time, Saying that though, the console version seems to be the only version getting dumbed down to the dumbed down "strengths" of being dumbed down.
Still, Mass Effect.
Hack and slash can be great. Just look at Diablo...
Some elaborate mechanics exist, but it is a VERY fluid combat system.

As Bioware showed in the first game, we can manage as little or as much as we want, so they know how give the players the tools to customise the experience.
In my personal opionion, this "action" style combat will just be another layer of the combat system. If people aren't fond of the immediacy of Hack 'n Slash, they can step back and take tactical control as normal. If they want both, use the pause function to issue orders to your companions. You can then continue to chop up Dark Spawn like a bad-a**
As mentioned in another thread, stat based twitch combat like Demon's Souls, coupled with the tactical battles and engrossing story of Dragon Age would be a dream game for me.

This is seriously killing me. I bought Dragon Age on PS3 because my computer could now run it. I want my tactical RPG. I love it. Now consoles are getting the shaft. I have to buy all the Dragon Age stuff (including DLC) again. You can say I don't have to, but the fact of the matter is that I do. I love these games and love RPGs. I'm heart broken about this. I don't get to play the game the way it was meant to be played anymore. So if I want to carry over my characters and play using the combat system I loved, then I have to buy it all again.
I feel really insulted by having the combat changes. It's like "Oh you want the core combat you loved? Should have picked a better platform. Go **** yourself." It really makes me sad
Combat changes =/= dumbed down and non-tactical.

Called "CRPG" not "console RPG". New game seems more console RPG, why you complain?

Except you'd only be able to control one character with no chance to micro because if you leave one character alone for even a few seconds, they'll be dead. Unless you know...they make the game easier.El Codge wrote...

You're always free to choose other games to purchase. DA is clearly not for the likes of you and that is a very, very good thing. Please go back to your middle school social studies homework and leave the discussion of DA2 to people who can legally purchase alcohol.
