Can I ask about what the Demon's
Souls combat system is like?
I never got it...namely because I don't
have a PS3 and because it's too hard.
I find it excellent. The triggers control left hand and right hand, so you can have a combination of sword & board, dual wielding, sword and wand. You can two hand
any weapon for faster strikes / hard hits.
Stats like strength, endurance, magic, agility all play a part (similar to another game?

). Strength lets you hit harder, endurance allows you to hit more and block more often. Stats play an important part in the make-up of your character - a magic specced char will be rubbish with heavy armour and a big sword for example.
The combat itself is far from "fast paced twitch". It is an extremely measured process. If you rush in, you will die. Lots. That's why people say the game is so difficult. You have to
think, use
patience and time your strikes correctly. Highly tactical.
Also, your character has a very immersive feeling of weight. When you smash someone with a two-handed sword, you
really freaking smash them. Highly satisfying.

If I want to play a game that is in a style that some other game has already gotten right, I'll go play the other game.
I can see where you're coming from, but do you never think that if game a) had game

's features, it would be better (i.e. your ideal game in your own mind).
Dragon Age's world, storyline, characterisation, art, design etc are all immaculate. My perfect game would incorporate this, then at a low level add manually controlled hack and slash and at a higher level would go more Total War, with the current system laying in between.
Half the reason these threads exist is because people are passionate about this game and world that Bioware have created. These people only want to see a better game made. Our opinions may differ, but they're all coming from the same source.
