I've been out of the gaming loop for a few years. I recently returned to play DAO. This spurred me on to look up NWN2 via Google, since I didn't buy it originally due to the bugs. DAO has also caused new RPG players to enquire about similar games and can now be pointed to the NWN2 forum, amongst others. Being on the same boards makes it easier for prospective newcomers to research NWN2 and find out what they're missing by not playing it. I'm enjoying myself just as much in NWN2 as I did in DAO, if not more, despite the age difference between the two. NWN2 is also wide open for a new modded version with full voice acting and DAO graphics. NWN1 is already being modded in this respect and I believe BG is also. There are benefits to being here, since it can more easily attract newcomers and a request for a modding team to update NWN2 could be made.

Well obsidian game with bioware game engine technically they are partnered up i would assume they should throw a witcher forum on here to since that was used with bioware engine also. and im a nutty bioware fanboi!

They actually re-wrote the aurora engine calling it electron, but aurora was at the roots of the game, this is true.

And I can shut up, but it would be nice to at least see someone from obsid post... something which almost never happens obviously.

They probably are working on things like games... While i know we are an important community to them, their posting really is not needed, the folks at bioware and the others here know what's going on. And since the decision is not obsidians or bioware's, but atari's i don't think their posting will do as much good as you hope, this is not a new decision but a continuation of the already old decision --- now can we move on and discuss things relevant to improving or playing the game, or making this new home the best place it can be.

I think the original idea was especially keeping the builders/multiplayer/DM/guilds etc. of both games close together and to prevent splitting up the community. I still know a lot of people who hop back and forth between the two games, build for both or use content from one in the other. Having both forums close together is an immense help there.

I couldn't agree more casadechrisso. :)

Thank you very much Chris. ^^ back playing NWN1, but I still LOVE NWN2 and it's superb community. Here's to many, many more years of fun with NWN2. :)

Aye... regardless of who made them, right now in 2010 they're both the best options available to someone intrested in on-line MP RPG gaming.

Oh and don't forget to hit over onto NeverWinter Connections for all your MP matchmaking needs!

[moderator's edit: removed what I thought was a double post and realized the link was different just after I said "OK" to delete the post.  So I made a nice pretty one here to make up for it. dno]
