Jade Empire and Kotor 1 and Kotor 2 remade for the Xbox 360 will be a good idea or even next gen. or even the gen after that.

Do you really want the Bioware of today to remake this game, or make a sequel in this new engine that lacks all the style of the original? All of the new games seem to look and feel the same.

I've bought Jade Empire three times, but it actually took until last summer for me to play the game. (The PC version had some sort of awful DRM in it and it didn't work; then I tried it on Xbox but never had the patience to learn to use the controller so I dropped it until I finally got it from Steam.)
IT WAS SO GOOD.
It's not a perfect game: I didn't like the combat system, half the game is all about wine, and it, sobs, didn't let me romance Dawn Star with my girl. But it explores spirituality and rebirth in the way that very few games do. The baddies aren't all black, the white is something unattainable, and the plot takes you to places you never expected to go to. It's an exceptional game and I, for one, would totally buy a sequel or two.
I'd even take a spiritual successor or something. Just... something.

All these years later and I would still play another Jade Empire game if they decided to make it. ![]()

The first time I decided to give this game a try I was sure I wouldn't like it; I was wrong. Honestly, why have they not come out with a sequel?

I originally picked up Jade Empire as rental at Blockbuster (I know, right?). The very next day I returned it because I'd gone out and bought the special edition. I still have and play that game to this day.
I have played through over a dozen times and every time I find something new, I have yet to play another game that can say the same, including other Bioware games. The game didn't even release with all the content they'd planned from what I can tell. If you watch the making of video you can clearly see them working on areas that are not in the game and the in game map is way too big for only 3 locations. I don't know if it was budgeting or something else but, for whatever reason, stuff just didn't make it in.
I know it'll probably never happen but if Bioware did make another Jade Empire, or even remade the old one, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I don't know why they don't or won't do it. It's a genre that isn't even really tapped these days in gaming so it would have no real competition. Part of me hoped that once Inquisition was out, and they realized that Mass Effect is only gonna go downhill from here, that they'd look at Jade Empire again. But then they put out that teaser trailer.... And honestly, it just made me mad. I'm hoping Hudson will pick up the project now that he's left, and I'm hoping even more that he doesn't pair up with a company like EA a second time.

I brought Jade Empire on Steam (then on another site after it bugged out) and loved it to bits. Really enjoy it, would love a sequel or even a re-release.

Jade Empire was an amazing game. There was a lot of content and ideas that were cut that never came to fruition, but it was still an unforgettable experience. I think it would be good for BioWare to bring more variety with different franchises. They can't rely on Mass Effect and Dragon Age solely. Bringing back Jade Empire and Knights of the Old Republic would be phenomenal and excite many old fans as well as attracting new ones.

Sorry I know this might be a little off topic, but I have downloaded jade empire xbox original from the xbox marketplace. But every time I try and lunch the game it comes up with an error message. I have spent the last two day talking with people at Microsoft online, going through everything from my console to there servers. And they couldn't come up with anything, they have told me to try and contact you (BioWare) to see if there is a problem on your end. if you could help at all with this issue it would be great thank you.

Hopefully we'll be coming off a good launch of DAI, and can devote some time to it. But that's up to the powers that be...
To those 'powers that be': I would pre-order any Jade Empire sequel as soon as I possibly could. And when I say 'soon as I possibly could' it means like... the second I know about it and get home from work.
I'm not ashamed to say, Jade Empire is one of the only games that has been good enough to actually make me cry when it was finished. I don't even finish half the games I play because I start getting bored.

Made a forum account just to add my +1 here!
I bought JE for the xbox when it first came out and played through it several times, just recently i noticed it for sale on steam and bought it and i'm enjoying the game all over again almost 10 years later! JE2 would be amazing and bioware would definitely have my money

Yes please.
I was a youngin when I played this game. It just came to my realization (now that I'm 21) I could play a mage type character. This has added a whole new meaning to this game! Please. For all that is good and holy, give us JE2!!!

Mike Laidlaw still works at Bioware... He was one of the lead writers of the game... I am sure it would do just fine...

Want much Jade Empire for many fun havings of punch and kicks!
Edit: I would love more Jade Empire! Add some more depth to the combat. (I like to imagine something similar to the Batman Arkham games.) Make it a simple brawler with grabs and counters. Give us a character creator and customizable clothing. Of course we need the great story and characters we expect and love from Bioware.

I finished Jade empire today (for the second time). I just hope that in the future someday they will make a new sequel. I love the game much more than the Dragon Age series. Especially the combat. It makes me feel content just to have the choice to tap a button twice to make my character roll away and avoid the attack all together. And to tell the truth I think it's much better than to choose between being a warrior, mage or rogue. It's something different all together. The characters are interesting too, but they could be enhanced just a bit more. I'm certain that if they would write a sequel they could be made even more interesting. And I like the voiceless main character. Not that I mind a voiced main character, but there is always that something that you could just pretend the main character would speak it with the voice you imagined.
I think there will be a market for it definitely. There's so much material to write about and more games to make. We still don't know much about Sagacious Tien and how he exactly formed the Jade Empire. And there is always the uncertainty how the Jade Empire will fare with the water of the Water Dragon gone.
I think Jade empire has a lot of untouched potential that has yet to be reached.
P.S I hope someone of the Bioware team will react to this post.

"You gotta love that game as much as DAO, kiddo."
No way bro ! I liked Neverwinter & Kotor a lot, but your old games will never take that much love away.
Oh boy, never not trust your big brother.
I just beat the game after being mindblown by my Master (Whyyy ?), horrified at the Dragon Water fate (you know why), without forgetting to be constantly scolded by that assassin-guy-who-ended-up-not-betraying-me-and-saving-my-ass-instead. (Also, the princess ? Totally married her.)
I didn't care it was old and a bit cranky, the combat was awesome (I was the Avatar and you will never tell me otherwise), the plotline as suggested below took me a bit by surprise by not being all "Be the Chosen One , Go Save The Universe ". I mean, it still is, but you're in for a few twists and turns. And lots of undead.
Seriously, where's the sequel ?

Jade Empire HD remake or sequel would become my most anticipated game of whenever. Insta-buy
Surely Bioware can't keep pumping out just Mass Effect and Dragon Age stuff forever. Oh, they do some new IP in the works, but i pray one day they return to JE and KOTOR
