I'd love that, I got the original on GOG ages ago and I still haven't got round to playing it yet... 

If it was re-released in a remastered version I'd buy it for sure

I found this game just a short while ago through another group.  This game is amazing and would be amazing as a sequel or prequel.  Make it happen!

I would love a JE2 or a remake. Every few months I look this info up just to see if there is anything new. I've played the first probably 5 times and I would love another. The atmosphere of the game were amazing. Going into the fox demon world was enchanting. The den mother actually makes me scared even today, and the twist was more surprising than KOTOR.

right?  I think BioWare needs to hear us and just get on with making a JE2 already or at least remaster JE to allow for room to make a new franchise with JE.  There is so much of that world to explore and the company I believe is losing out on untapped potential with this game.

Even if they don't want to take away from their teams on other games right now, since Mass Effect and Dragon Age are ongoing IP franchises, I'd LOVE to see a novel or two, exploring the background - the formation of the Jade Empire and the conflicts with the Horse Lords, or the origins of the Spirit Monk order, things like that. Like, just give us SOMETHING. We're here, begging for even crumbs!

I agree!  If they would just give us something.  Anything, books, comics whatever I'd be so happy.  We need more Jade!

I recall when i was a journo in the games industry and attended a general event in london and talking to the bioware guy in his booth that had the placard 'Jade Empire 2' (with a martial arts figure). Cant recall any of the convo but was totally gutted some months later to hear from the guys on Edge that bioware had dropped it and were all about their new 'intellectual property' project.

Of course this turned out to be Mass Effect - which i'm very happy became reality but, but, i soooooooooooooo wanted another Jade Empire. Loved that game so much and to date still has the best soundtrack of any game i've ever played, hell, it's probably my favourite soundtrack from any source including films.

I was just casually checking out this youtube video for nostalgic purposes and the top comment appears to be from someone who worked on the game. Apparently they were working on a sequel for 3 years until EA shelved it Sadly, the games that have been mostly neglected (KoTOR, Jade Empire) are the ones that I want a sequel to most. Don't know about anyone else but I'm completely burned out on Mass Effect and Dragon Age. It seems the more they keep making, the less special they become.

I only just played this for the first time last week, I've already finished it once on master level, and now I am playing again on Grandmaster.

 

I absolutley love it!!!!! I prefer this setting and story to even the dragon age series.

People complain about the combat, but I liked it, the only gripe I had was that it wasn't as responsive as it could be, but thats it!

 

I would love a sequal, please bioware make it true.

I've only just played Jade Empire last year in 2014 (the Special Edition on Steam). I bought it on a hunch, plus it was on sale for like $7.

It would do well in today's gaming market too. It's Chinese theme is very unique. It will definitely stand out among the other more medieval European fantasy action-rpgs out there.

Eactly, it has so much potential. SO much was set up and then not explored, leaving plenty of room for sequels. E.g. Celestial Bureaucracy, Prosperous East, Outlander, Spirits other than the Water Dragon etc.

I take that as confirmation that Thedas is on the other side of the Glass Ocean and Jade Empire and Dragon Age are set in the same world, just as different continents. I mean look at Sir Roderick Ponce Von Fontlebottom the Magnificent Bastard. Just TRY to tell me that man is not Orlesian.

It would be so awesome if Dragon Age and Jade Empire were part of the same world. Do it Bioware! Combine DA and Jade Empire into one game! It would make an awesome MMORPG! Just don't make it another Star Wars: The Old Republic...

Can't help but wonder (or prefer to hope) if its on the table for after:

-DAI (2015?)

-MEA (2016-2017?)

-NewIP (2017?-2018?)

-Star Wars game? (2016?-?)

 

Basically, they'd love to do it, but their hands are full right now, and for the next couple/few years. Check back later this decade or early next decade, lol.

You never know.  Square Enix decided to remake FF7 and it's been almost 20 years soooooooooooo.  I won't give up hope but I'm not going all in either.

Bioware I would throw my money at you so fast if you made a Jade Empire remastered or a Jade Empire 2 (I mean, I throw my money at you anyways, but I would throw more at you if these were ever to be on the table).

 

I just finished playing it for the first time - even compared to some of Bioware's newest stuff, it still stands strongly on its own, in my opinion. So put me down as an enthusiastic yes for more Jade Empire content!
