What do you all think if Bioware made JE 2 on a hand held device. I don't know say the New 3DS. I think it would be good. We get our sequel and Bioware won't take such a major hit working on the game. I mean it shouldn't be to much money for Bioware to make a game on a hand held device like the new Nintendo 3DS.

I'd have no problem with it - the big question is will the game be good (which is usually what I care about for all games!)

I dunno. Bioware has more experience developing platform games. I mean, their iPhone game didn't really come as successful (quite a lot of bad reviews), but it could be one way to expand what they are doing, as what Muzyka and Zeschuk said in some interview (can't remember which one...)

I'm in agreement with this thread. JE2 would be a wonderful thing to happen. It was really refreshing to see Bioware step outside their comfort zone in terms of setting.

I'm all for Jade Empire 2 thought not so excited about Jade Empire on a handheld platform, primarily because I don't own any handheld platforms.

I found out with this interview the art director who did Jade empire is working on DA 2. Maybe we just might get Jade Empire 2 if he stays on board. Anyone thinking what I'm thinkiing?

Sure, apparently the art director of JE is working on DA 2. JE was outstanding in this department. Makes me wish to see a shiny new JE game, great setting. I am rambling

Man I would kill for a JE 2 game, just... not myself I want to play it when I get out of Jail.

Also when they make a sequel (and I realy realy hope they do) I hope you play as some guy who becomes a legendary Martial Arts hero, I liked the story of defeating evil and freeing a god but still they need to do something diffrent about JE2.



I also hope for some kind of codex because like in the DA and ME series I didn't always read the books, because I only wanted the EXP or was to lazy to read it at the time.

I don't think every great game HAS to have a sequel. I'm OK with Jade Empire being done. There are no big cliffhangers to resolve; the game was tied up nice and tidy. I am very happy to have played it though and I would love to see BioWare iterate on the combat system whenever they get around to creating their NEXT IP. I also think the Asian theme was a very unique setting that I would love to see explored in some way again.

Actually. If there are more petitions and more people start to notice it. It will get around and many people will probably end up wanting a unique experience again. DA is good and so is ME, but they are not classics yet. JE is a universe with so much potiental and so much mysticism not going back to it is like having a talent and not using it. JE was a very well done but needed more work. It was the same with ME 1 and to ME 2. They are both well done, but not fully satifying. I've also started a thread where there are polls for people to look at for the JE 2 discussion.

Also if there is to be a new JE I would love to actually have more of the european continent involved with the Jade empire. The reason being is this way we could have more customability. Everyone this way your not just stuck making an asian theme. Now I don't mind the asian theme,but some people like to look the way they do when creating characters. It should be a story that starts you out from any type of land as a character. This way we don't have a default character.

Another JE would be awesome whatever direction they chose (growing influence of the West/Outlanders or exploration of the Prosperous East/other areas mentioned in JE for some examples), so long as they could replicate the great dialogue, voice acting and (most importantly) fantastic storyline that really connected and involved the player during JE.



Of course, some tweaks (like a slightly more complex combat system with greater emphasis on harmonic combos) would be great, but it would just be great fun if they decide to replicate the atmosphere and experience at greater depth with new areas and characters.

I definitely would love to see Jade Empire 2. I'm not sure why the game didn't do as well as they needed it to, but I would have to think it was the fault of the marketing and not the game. The game was great. While it doesn't have the deep lore and codex effort that ME and DA have, the whole historical context and world is rip for a more thorough treatment. JE doesn't have a "franchise feel" in that it always seemed to me to be a truncated experience in many ways, but what was there was so much fun.



I would love to see Bioware pick JE back up, but if they're not going to, I wish they'd license it to another developer. It doesn't deserve to be banished into obscurity just because the effort was for some reason incomplete.

That would be interesting to cover. European-like lands to try and gain control over the fertile lands of Jade Empire, leading to stalemate and weaking of the Emperor... You can play a foreigner background or a native Jadian (Asian) background or something...

I agree. It would make more a more rich story involved and we could get people like the bastard involved. I could see them warring over the land and the european contient attacking the JE gods.

With every finger on my hand I vote for 'please, more JE!'. With every fibre of my being! That's from someone who doesn't like con-fu or first person controls! But writting in JE outweigh all other considerations. Oh, if possible, please make JE 2 party-based with NWN2 like controls. Pweeeety please? Same kick-butt writting though!!!
