I played the game on the original Xbox when it came out. To me this game was better than all other bioware games but that's just me.(I'm not a real big fan of space games but star wars is awesome and I can't wait for Star Wars the Force Unleashed 2.) I really hope Bioware sees this group and thinks about making Jade Empire 2. Jade Empire 2 with today's tech = the best martial art epic video game of all time.

A couple of years ago, I remember picking up a copy of Jade Empire in the previously played bin at Gamestop for a extremely cheap price of $4.99. Being a consistent gamer and constant lover of roleplaying games I still had never heard of this ever being released.

This game was incredible and it saddens me to know that there might not ever be a sequel or a spiritual successor. Guess I'll just have to stay content with Dragon Age, which is just as awesome.

Jade Empire remains my favorite Bioware game, but i cant see a sequel coming until Bioware finishes milking their ME cash cow.

From the way its looking Bioware only really has about another year of production and maybe a half for them to finish MAss effect. Then maybe they would be willing do some some Jade Empire loving for this small cult.

Jade Empire didn't tank, especially when compared to Beyond Good and Evil and that is getting a sequel.

Also I noticed that this section is now "other" instead of "legacy" I suppose there is some hope in a way with that subtle change.

Or my calls for them making a Shattered Steel sequel have not fallen on deaf ears, rofl.

I would actually like to know what that story is about. I might take a look into it when I get some time. Shattered steel does sound kind of mechish though. Image IPB

Jade Empire franchise died when Bioware was purchased by EA...

At some point Microsoft have signed an exclusive deal for 2 IP with Bioware:

1) Mass Effect

2) The (in)famous "Next Gen Game" that has never seen the light.

Probably this one was the sequel of Jade Empire.

Then comes EA...

Actually I not fully sure microsoft owns the full rights to JE. They own a duel part of it, but not the full rights. If Bioware wants to make the sequel they can. They would just have to make it for Xbox first. When EA, bought Bioware they bought bioware, so what ever rights Bioware has so does EA. Just Bioware had an agreement for Mass Effect 1 with purchase made speciially for Xbox 360 and they still got Mass effect 2 and now its going to PS3. No big deal. If bioware wants to make a sequel they can all they want. Because JE 2 is not under a contract with Microsoft. Image IPB

Count me in if that dream ever comes true. DA and ME1/2 are also great games, but JE had a different feel and gameplay, so I'd still love to see a JE2.

It is now common knowledge that MS at the time has signed 2 exclusive deal with Bioware.

The point to clear here is what Microsoft has obtained after the acquistion of Bioware.

We already know that MS has keep the right for ME1 and a time-exclusive deal for ME2 (and maybe ME3).

Now maybe MS was able to keep also the old exclusive deal for this "Next-Gen" game that is in development at Bioware from loooooong time (the second IP that Bioware should have developed exclusivly for the Xbox).

Much probably this "next gen" game was the so-many-time-rumored to be in producion steam-punkish sequel of Jade Empire .

The point now is that EA has NO clear interest to finance/produce/publish a project that is an exclusive game for the MS platform.
Consider also that EA/Bioware in the last past years have given priority not only to ME2 but also to DA2!!!!!

It is it clear that at some point in the past a Jade Empireish sequel has existed...
But for the previous considerations I am more that sure that the famous "Next-Gen" game (JE spiritual successor) has been put on hold by EA soon after the acquisition...

Maybe it will be released for the next Xbox (an exclusive deal at the beginning of a new harware cicle has a lot more sense for a publisher point of view)...

I have stated many times... Bioware after EA acquisition has made several mistakes (IMHO), and it seems to have lost its old aura of magic...
They call it EA EFFECT....

I would sacrifice dao 2 and me3 for a JE2. It's no denying ME and DAO are more technically profecient and their gameplay would probably serve them more in sales. But I still can't deny that Jade empire is my most loved bioware game. There are so many flaws yet, everything in the game just seemed to click when i played it. I cried when the Dirge title screen appeared after the credits finished rolling. I nearly cry everytime i hear the main theme after my first playthrough. The music, the setting, the people, dawn star are all burned into my soul.

Thats why it hurts to see bioware put such a low priority on Jade empire. I mean, technically, It's bioware's highest rated game on ign. 9.9! for crying out loud. Reviewers are not as easily swayed as fanboys, yet that score seems like something a fanboy would give it. It just goes to show how much power the game has. Then it also hurts to see bioware place Jade empire among it's 'others' category. Among sonic -_-. It deserves more, tap into your souls bioware. Not your allegience to EA and sales. Follow the path of the open palm and give this game what it deserves, a sequel. Then you will truly achieve your goal, of making the best story driven game ever made. Summon the harmony in your hearts, disperse the discord caused by greed and EA's influence! That is my plea, you can brush it off ofcourse, but this comes from the heart. Where Jade empire has stuck  its claws so deep.....

I'd also take JE2 over ME3 or DAO any day without thought. It's the only action based RPG that my kids and I go back to play every few weeks while waiting for new arrivals. Matter of fact I'm playing it right now while waiting for Fable 3... it's an awesome game. Please bring it back Bioware, even better if you make it Kinect compatible.

They could use different fighting styles with different hand movements while your playing. It would give you a work out and you could kick some NPC JAde empire baddy butt. Image IPB

I wholeheartedly endorse and give my FULL support for a Sequel to Jade Empire.  I speak about Jade Empire in almost all of my posts, and I thank Bioware heartily for creating this gem of a game.

It is a shame that I subscribe to this thread and I have not posted until now.  "Shame that," Sky would say!  In Jade Empire, Bioware embraces and celebrates women.  The game has heart and the martial aspect of the game is truly, truly impressive.  This game is #1 on all the Bioware games I owned (I do have them all).

We do not only love jade Empire, but it is a favorite of the "Developers" as well to include the doctors, too.  I do dearly hope that Bioware would consider the idea of producing a sequel to this beloved game.  Yes, Microsoft commissioned Jade Empire, but with today's graphics and the fact that EA acquired Bioware, it should be more likely than not to entertain the idea of a sequel.

I received regular updates whenever someone posts a comment.  I will continue to visit this thread and give this "desire for a sequel" my full support.

I would adore a second Jade Empire. Infact, I'd do terribly things for a sequel. Jade Empire was by far my favorite game on the Xbox, and because of its recent release on the Xbox 360 marketplace, I've been able to rekindle my love for it. I actually recently purchased the JE:SE for the PC. I love this game, and Bioware for making it.

Please, if not for your own gain then for its raving fans, make another Jade Empire.

Jade Empire was one of the best games I've ever played, in every respect. Maybe as BioWare grows, they can support a three IP rotation with JE, DA, and ME. Mass Effect might take a development break after ME3, so maybe we can get JE2 next with DA3? (hoping TOR doesn't soak up too much of their resources)

As much as I love Mass Effect, I would rather have another Jade Empire. Dragon Age is good, but it lacks the originality of JE. There is nothing else out there that compares to JE, while DA is basically just Baldur's Gate in a new engine.

I loved JE - the setting, the story, the art direction, but it was still my least favorite BW game to date (granted, I haven't played Shattered Steel, MDK2 or Sonic Chronicles).

If they add character creation and the ability to change armor/clothing, and make it a bit longer and less linear than the original, it would probably blow both the DA and ME series out of the water.

Though I don't think this is going to go anywhere, I would certainly love to see a JE prequel.

Well, depends not only on EA and BioWare's will, but on the success of TOR,
DS 2 and DA 2 among other titles...

Anyway
