So evidently there is this Bioware casting director putting up ads for models in an "unannounced franchise video game project". The ads feature character names and brief descriptions.

Role: Omar Type: MALE / 30 to 50 / Caucasian, Hispanic, Middle Eastern or Asian. The role is for an tough, intense love interest. Hair and eye color not relevant. This character is a citizen of the world who has done alot, and seen more. A handsome care-worn tough guy. Archetypes include Bruce Willis, Ken Watanabe and Terry O'Quinn.

Role: Andrea Type: FEMALE / 30 to 40/ Caucasian/European. The model needs to be beautiful but tough, hard, wiry, slim but muscular. This is a character who can command with her eyes. Great bone structure and eyes.

Role: Natasha Type: FEMALE / 18 to 25 / Caucasian/European. The model will be the face of a beautiful, desirable, alluring, sexy character, who is at the same time smart, sophisticated, and in perfect control. The model should be a curvy Playboy-type, lingerie or swimsuit model - we need the face that goes with this body type.

Role: Katharyn Type: FEMALE / 30 to 50 / Caucasian. The role is for an intense, attractive woman with character. Hair and eye color not relevant. Clear skin, excellent bone structure. The character communicates power in her eyes and her attitude.

Role: Lian Type: FEMALE / 18 to 24 / Chinese (will consider any Asian heritage). The role is for a young lithe Chinese character with attitude. Archetypes include Ziyi Zhang.

Role: Mystery Man Type: MALE / 38 to 45 / Caucasian. The role is for a refined, powerful, worldly, fit adventurer with catalogue model good looks. He is an alpha-male at home in the boardroom, the squash court and the Himalayas.

I believe those have been up for quite some time. The Mystery Man one sounds an awful lot like the Illusive Man  while Natasha is pretty much Miranda. Not to mention that most of those were posted April 2009...

Could be. But ME2 was released in Jan 2010. I doubt that they would only start casting with less than a year to go in development.

Like Ken said, more then likely these are fake names. Not anything shocking either though, you can find those archetypes in pretty much all BioWare games.

yeah im pretty sure this was me2, since most of the pictures were from me2.also the character types seem to fit me2.
plus, like they said, i doubt they would use real names, since game fans such as yourself would be all over it, and posting it everywhere.

Well, we know Bioware is working on a "Unannounced Next Gen" game, whatever that means. There was an item in the website navigation for it for a long time, which got removed right around the time DA2 was announced. Maybe this is for that project. I actually kind of home so, because there's only one Mass Effect game left, at least in the Shepard Trilogy. I'd love to see them start a new series that lived up to the same level of quality.

This is what I was thinking. The presense of Asians seems to confirm this, as I wouldn't imagine much of a demand for Asian people in DA2, being based on Medieval Europe.

They're code names because they'd be crazy to release actual character names out when there are people like us out there digging for scraps.

This isn't for a voice cast, it's models for character design.
