Greetings!
I have this new problem, i keep on getting into the Rocky Road Darkspawn encounter, and cant seem to beat it, no matter how many times i try. Im a lvl 12 Rouge, my party members are Morrigan, Alastair and Sten ( all around lvl 12 as well )
This whole rocky road business is starting to ****** me off, i mean i already beat the redcliffe, the forest, the mages tower, and part of the denerim city, but cant fight my way through these basterds? Any ideas?
And i would also like to know if anyone could share their tactics presets that are effective, as i think i have them all either on default, disabled or completely screwed up.
Thanks A Lot!

Is this the encounter with a lot of traps in the middle of the area? If so, the first priority is taking out the emissary. Send the PC, Alistair and Sten at him and try to avoid stepping on the traps. If Morrigan has any crowd control spells, let her use them on the others until the emissary is out.

Not sure what fight you're talking about. Is your rogue a backstabber or an archer?
I would set your tactics to have Sten attack Alistair's target, Alistair attack Sten's target, Sten to use sunder arms and mighty blow while above 50% stamina, and Alistair to use overpower and shield pummel while above 50% stamina. Have Morrigan's bottom tactic be to attack the target with the lowest health. If she has cone of cold, use that on a couple of enemies and have Sten and Alistair shatter them with overpower and mighty blow. Morrigan should already be casting winter's grasp on low-life enemies and drain life when she's below 50% health and mind blast when surrounded. Also, setting self health <50% use least powerful health poultice on everyone can help.

First of all, Thanks a lot for the replies.
Follis - nope, that one i got right through, this is a rather larger encounter, both more darkspawn and area, here it is http://dragonage.wik...wiki/Rocky_Road I cant beat that one.
Soteria - thanks a lot for the tactics tips, ill surely try that out. Mines a backstabber fyi
Thanks Again, maybe others can add something to that :]

Oh, that one. Just dash over to the right and kill the shrieks, saving the elves. Then worry about the enemy archers. When you're behind the barriers you should be relatively safe from them

Just break one down near you and go on in.

I like to try and place a spell blockade (eg; Glyph of Repulsion, Earthquake) in the gateway to inhibit the Darkspawn, kill the Shrieks, then the remaining horde.
This is one of my fave side quest encounters, as it also gave me trouble until I realized I could make my own entrance. Only once has a Shriek followed me in, and then he was all by his lonesome for an easy kill, as long as one of the party has Survival to spot 'em.

Nope, their arrows go through the barricade.
