At first I was like everyone else annoyed with the lack of new races and all the other stuff but regardless of how we feel now we all know this game will be in our homes by this time next year. Why? Because its BIOWARE, when have they ever let you down!

I'm still looking forward to more information on DA2. My biggest concern right now has more to do with bugs and technical issues than any of the game features that have been released so far.

You know what I expect games I purchase to be? FUN!

You know what I don't expect games to be? Catered to my personal whims!

I may not like some of the decisions they have made (I want my dwarfs dammit) but at the end of the day, I don't care if DA:2 is absolutely nothing like DA:O. If it's a good game and it sounds like I'd have fun playing it, I'll buy it.

Even the biggest pessimists will and they know it.

If they weren't going to, why rage over the internet about it?

Yep so far the only downside from the news I've heard is the lack of choosing your race, I find being a human most boring :P. Everything else sounds great.

I think most people who are complaining will certainly buy it. That's WHY they are complaining. They know they will buy the product, yet they worry about it's sub-par nature. That is the very epitome of reasons to complain. If they weren't going to buy it, what would be the point of trying to get changes made?

Sometimes, a little logic can go a long way.

No I wont, like I didn't buy awakening either, cause I heard so much bad about it

games cost a lot, I won't waste them just because the first was good

I don't know, I haven't bought Awakening or Mass Effect 2 yet so no reason to think I'll buy this one if it doesn't meet the standards I've come to expect from BioWare or if it just isn't my style.

Notice the no Awakenings tag under my avatar, I tried it out and decided it wasn't something I would support the company over. The assumption everyone out there is going to buy everything with a Bioware tag on it is a pretty dangerous one to make as a developer in this day and age.

That being said I haven't seen enough about DA2 to form an opinion yet.

Steam boycott groups are quite commonly caught playing the game they are "boycotting" on RELEASE DAY. And by release day, I mean, AS SOON AS ITS DONE DOWNLOADING.

I'm likely to buy it eventually. Of course if it becomes as streamlined as many fear and if the gameplay doesn't turn out that hot I might just get it used or even wait for some youtube LP by a likeable personality.

those who boycott a game tend to usually pirate it instead of buying it on steam

I never cared for the Mass Effects. I dont care for the art direction and the story getting less personal in DA2. I will not buy it at release. I will see what the reviews and others say about it first. Seems to me that they are trying to make Dragon Age more appealing on consoles this time around. Good business decision, bad for me i suppose.

mmm, not necessarily. at 60 or so bucks a pop, i like to do my research before i buy a game. there are other RPGs out there i can spend my money on if this one looks disappointing.

that being said, I'm feeling optimistic about DA2. I loved DA:O, I'm still playing it.

Also depends on the reviews, if they are bad then I rather come on here and laugh of all the complains there will be :-)

Question: will you buy it at launch, or later on on sale? That's what it all about.

just be careful, Alpha Protocol got terrible reviews already before release despite being a decent RPG, as far I heard some companies paid reviewers to throw dirt at it

I will certainly buy it the day of release, even if I feel bad about the game in general. If I started with both Origins and Awakening on release day, I will continue with this specific series on release day, as well as ME3.

After that I will decide if the game is worth or not... either way, I'll still keep it. I keep all the games in the best shape possible, hated or not.

lol internet forums are a haven for pointless, hypocritical complaints, rage against the machine all you like, you'll always be tools, so to all of them i say

"enjoy dragon age 2 on your first day purchase"

Will it?
With Divinity 2: Flames of Vengeance, Gray Matter, Two Worlds 2, Dungeon Siege 3 (Maybe?), Wiedzmin 2, Fable 3, Hunted: The Demon's Forge, Civilization V, King's Bounty: Crossworlds, Drakensang 2: River of Time (and addon pack) and Fallout: New Vegas coming out, roughly, between now and then? Dragon Age 2 doesn't even have a hope of being purchased by yours truly.
