Me neither... but why should they not buy it if there are minor changes. that's the joke... no, it just looks funny from the sidelines.firl1979 wrote...

I'll be buying it, no problem. I CAN SURVIVE CHANGE. especially so slight changes. it's really a stupid scene people are making. people should know better than their insane apocalyptic assumptions. Sheep... sheep... I often wonder if they can think within realistic bounds, take PAST games (not just Mass Effect) into consideration and rationalize what it'll be like.
They just don't. they pretend Mass Effect was the first game by this developer and start a raging choir of whine. as entertaining as it was at first, it's ****** annoying now. please stop it, get real and wait untill it gets released. KTHX.
Uhhhhhhhh No. Not even close. As far as I am concerned, YOU are the sheep because you refuse to accept dissent. Bioware generally makes good games, I seriously don't think anyone is arguing against that. The simple question is whether DA2 will be a game that Wicked702 (insert any individual here) will like.
The answer is also simple. I don't buy Madden games, not because they are of poor quality (because they are actually pretty well made), but because I don't LIKE THEM. Well guess what, I don't like what I'm seeing so far out of DA:2. It's really just that...

Also depends on the reviews, if they are bad then I rather come on here and laugh of all the complains there will be :-)
Reviews will probably most definitely be positive, regardless of how its actually like, Mass Effect 2 is the highest rated game this generation (along with God of War 3), and we all know how that turned out...
All im saying is dont trust revieweres.

This. Games from some developers and/or publishers will always be highly rated by the mainstream media. Plus, what matters most these days are graphics and action. That's why most developers focus on that, and without a doubt both will work well enough in DA 2, as they did in ME 2. The rest, the things BioWare used to be renowned for, the things their fans loved the games for, doesn't matter to most reviewers these days.

Right.. but I also mean reviews from people like you and me from game pages like this, they are sometimes better to trust, I never buy games before they have been out for a week or so anyway

As I said in different thread,
It will all depend on the reliable reveiws and how much of original DA:O was gutted.
ME2 was Biowares one get out of jail free card and they played it. Now they get analyzed and questioned like everyone else.
As pointed out, Games cost alot and not all of us have a weekly allowance to spend on game, we have bills, morgages, payments to make.
Maybe OP not old enough to understand this yet but in time and experience you stop paying for the hype and start paying for the product.
Bioware got by on reputation alone for years and they delivered but ME2 marked a new era and change in direction and for the real first time they used misdirection and in some cases flat out lies to get their sales.
I imagine probably half the original customer base will now question and possibly not buy, depending on feedback because of the errors made by Bioware in opening statements.
So I cant answer yes or no to OP, time will tell which way I go. Im hoping I will buy it and have a fun game but its nowhere close to a for sure thing.
Quite well said. Still, I will still "anyhow" but the pricetag I choose to buy at will depend on reviews. I never buy at 60£, I consider it an outrageous price for games, I wait until price <= 30£. But reviews mark exactly if I will buy it at 30£ 2 months after release or for 5£, used, 1-2 years after release.
Anyhow, most games are quite buggy on release date, so it's better to wait a month or two purely for gameplay reasons.

I've no idea what your standarts are, these days. Ever touched a game like Metro 2033? Let's call it a story shooter. It's over and done, after as little as 10 hours. And still, that game was worth my money... Even though there are, at most 6-8 games once a year that even spark any interest, for me. This year it was ME2, AP, Metro 2033, Awakening, Drakensang 2. Now add Starcraft 2, Civilisation 5 and Fallout: New Vegas, and the "amazing" gaming year 2010 is done for me.

There's a reason why you can rent video games but not computer games.

its sad how true this is. take fable 2, it add some stuff but cut much of the best stuff from the first game and had one of the weakest stories and worst conclusions ever but it still got fantastic reviews.

At first I was like everyone else annoyed with the lack of new races and all the other stuff but regardless of how we feel now we all know this game will be in our homes by this time next year. Why? Because its BIOWARE, when have they ever let you down!
They let me down with ME2. Naming a linear action adventure, entertaining as it was, an RPG was a serious letdown.
They let me down with DA:A. Uninspired, horrible dialogue system, and odd cliffhanger ending.
They let me down already with DA2, dumping my characters whith no proper closure. To cut the cost of voiceactors, I'd guess.
They let me down by creating a predetermined canon hero, complete with franchise and all, the -true- Hawke, a bearded male stereotype.
They let me down by implenting VA, thus forcing me to listen to someone elses idea how the protagonist should sound.
In short, unless a hell of a lot of good news is presented, there is no way I'll buy this game.

I wholeheartedly agree with those who have said that Bioware will now have to work very hard to convince me that this game is worth purchasing.

This is entirely untrue.
DA2 wouldnt be the first Bioware game I dont buy. There is certainly no compelling reason Id purchase their next title just because it came attached with their name. That being said...although I am already quite put off by the little information currently available, I will wait for them to fill us in with more details before deciding to pass.

coming of DAO which i loved playing(the game was just fun gameplay to me), i'll try DA2. I'll reconsider any future purchases of sequels based on my DA2 experience.

I have little to no qualms with the changes they have suggested so far. The new battle system for my console makes me feel a little wary but I will wait till I see it in action to pass any sort of judgment.
As of yet, I have no reason to not by the game, or even preorder it.

Exactly! Dragon Age and KotOR just had very fun and satisfying gameplay, something that is becoming increasingly rarer these days. The combat system doesnt need a revamp.
