Eventually, I will play this game, the only hold back being waiting until its $20 on steam. If it turns out to be on par with DA:O, instant purchase.

It really depends on what some people on forums say about it. NOT paid reviews in mags, but people who actually play it say, and even then I will be skeptical because there are paid posts on forums too.

40%~ are buying the game pre-order
70%~ are going to buy the game almost certainly
29%~ are taking a wait and see approach and may or may not buy the game.
01%~ are idiots, assuming they liked DAO and DAO/DA2 isn't just completely the wrong game/genre for them.
Yeah it's just a forum poll and isn't perfect but it's as close to 'fact/scientific' as we are going to get on the issue.

The only person's opinion I take into consideration when purchasing a game is my own. I really don't care if someone else enjoyed or did not enjoy a game since individual tastes vary. I know what I enjoy in a game.
I enjoyed DA:O. I enjoyed Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Unless DA2 out-and-out sucks, most likely I'll enjoy it as well. But I'm not going to know that until I play it. Screenshots and reading about characters and combat techniques only go so far.

While my GW in DA:O and DA:A is being a total ass to everyone I'll make Hawke the 2nd biggest **** in DA2! Perfect plan

Pretty much this, I'll keep my eye on this title but I will certainly remain wary. The BioWare icon alone is not reason enough for me to purchase this, especially after Awakening not only failing to acknowledge my ending but also importing the DLC items.Livemmo wrote...
Actually no there are a few things that if put in would make me not purchase the game. You can see that I still have no Awakening icon under my name.

I love Bioware as much as some of the others but I think under other circumstances I would have waited for ME2. Not to say I didn't have fun with it but it hasn't given me any reason to play through it a second time.

Epic math fail.
In reality its
38% preorder
31% likely buy
21% wait and see
9% probably not.
1% definately not.
While buy is still in the lead (about 2/3), there is a significant portion (in business, having 30% of your market displeased is significant) of the fanbase with enough worries to consider not buying the game.

Try again kiddo.
Since I am a buisness person with as much credentials as you have (that's none btw) I can confidently theorize that having 30% with concerns with this little factual information and who are just plain making up stuff at this point and considering that my previous game in the series was the best selling game my company made to date, that no it's nothing to get worried about.

At first I was like everyone else annoyed with the lack of new races and all the other stuff but regardless of how we feel now we all know this game will be in our homes by this time next year. Why? Because its BIOWARE, when have they ever let you down!
Well, I'm afraid that's just not true. I bought KOTOR, but after playing Mass Effect at a friend's house, I didn't buy it. I just couldn't get into it. Double that for Mass Effect 2, which didn't seem to have the things that I did like about Mass Effect 1. I might buy it, I might not. It will depend entirely on what I hear after the game is released. The dialogue wheel puts me off to the extent that I will have to be convinced of it's worth, rather than the other way around.

What is the likelihood that out of the millions of copies sold for Dragon Age: Origins, this forum makes up even 1%?

have ridiculous amounts of faith in Bioware and the DA franchise. this may be the first game in years I end up buying for the retail price because I can't wait for a good deal to come along

Assuming the numbering scheme for members works as straightforward as I think it is, it's not a horrible chance, even if still not very likely. The BSN has approximately 1,985,370 members. How may of those have DAO? Not sure to be honest not gonna try and count either
Like I said this is the closest we are going to get without a funded study done by independant researchers. I know some of us are pretty big fambois/whiners but I don't think anyone is desperate enough to go that far.

I'm going to keep my eye on the media for a while, but there are very few actual dealbreakers in my book. I like experimentation in gaming. I don't want Bioware to stagnate. I'm looking forward to seeing what they're trying this time.

- No = Pirate it
Same with all the dlc and awakening . I don't pay for fillers , when my warden's story was left hanging in mid air .
