Yes I want surprises. Surprises galore. A hand coming out of my monitor and slapping me in the face wouldn't go amiss.
Unfortunately, due to injudicious left clicking and irresistible curiousity I won't be getting as many as I should.
Still looking forward to a lot in the game though.
Anyone else want the game to surprise them?

I want to laugh, cry, feel anger and shock in this game!

I would skip the crying though. Just saying i think it will freak people out.
Surprises are nice but i could definitely do without the bad ones.

Bad ones is what makes it a 'strong' experience - if it were all sunshine and a smiles only, where's the ride in that?

I've managed to get more spoilers than I would want to (which isn't difficult as I don't want any spoilers at all) but I'm sure there'll be lots of surprises still waiting for me in the game. It's a huge game after all.
Lucky enough, I found spoilers about two different things happening at the same encounter in the game, making me realize that even if I've learned how some things may happen, there's a big chance things may happen in a different way when I play the game. The options we make in the game opens up for several different ways to do things and several different results. ( i hope any of what i said makes sense)
That was a big consolation when I earlier this week stumbled upon a huge spoiler at the end of the game, when browsing through some of the BioWarians uploaded player characters... I can only hope that I will be able to have that particular event end differently because of how I play the game.

I avoid anything to do with spoilers but I do want to learn more about the world. I've ordered both prequel books and will read them before the game starts. That way I will already feel as a part of the world when I first start the game. I think reading the books will help you to fully understand the game's storyline and provides you with the history of the characters, races and places.

I avoid large spoilers and game-defining plot elements, but I do not attempt to avoid any and all tidbits of information.
I have read both of the novels and have read a few interviews and watched a few gameplay movies. I feel I know a bit about the world and the general story, but I do not know any details and everything should be quite fresh.

I have tried to avoid anything that goes into too much detail about the actual plot and have only looked at things that give a general overview of the world and a little bit of history from that world. At this stage I have virtually no knowledge on who I will meet in the game or their backgrounds.
I am kind of looking at this as a graphic book and don't want to read the last chapter before I have gone through all the previous ones if that makes any sense

Same here. I can't answer questions like "Who will you have in your party?" "Who will you like/dislike" because I've tried to stay away from most information. I want to meet my companions in game ... not create a preconceived notion of them before.
But I've just read "The Stolen Throne" in one day - to get a bit familiar with the world and its history.

I like to spoil stuff for myself because in some situations I then know how I'm going to react and not muck up my whole character story.
I also don't mind reading everything about it since I want to experience everything first-hand, even if I know what will happen.

I try to avoid any think that can do some spoil for me but the truth is at the end you can't avoid everything, but dragon age it's huge for what i know so i don't think some spoils here and there will ruin much.
