For me it's banter. It makes the game better.
What do you miss most from ME 1?

RPG elements
Immersion
Music
The Citadel
A more "open" world feel
The Mako
Elevators
....
I pretty much disagreed completely with peoples ME1 complaints

I'd rather have several different smaller hubs, than one big one.haberman13 wrote...

The vehicle sections, where we happened to only ever land on ridiculously mountainous planets. Nah, I'm just kidding. Or am I? As lazily made, copypasta as they were, they surely gave the game a sense of depth, synthetic or not. You felt as if you were part of one, vast galaxy. Mass Effect 2 did well with the sheer amount of quests on uncharted worlds, but even with the overly late addition of the hammerhead, it felt...smaller.

The sense of a real villain or threat. In ME2 the Collectors seemed more of a nuisance than an actual enemy

Yep..Second that. I beat the collectors at the end with too much ease...*sigh* So much for a climax.

MUSIC- it was literally gone in ME2 which kind of took out that space opera/nostalgic type of atmosphere that was present in the first.
The open world type of gameplay.
The awe and wonder that existed about the galaxy and various other things.
I understand that they aimed at making the second game darker, but please Bioware....bring back those wondrous vibes that you instilled into ME1's atmosphere!

Major fights with the Geth. Be honest, the missions with Geth as enemies are the best. Those petty Mercs can't compare to them. Heastrom FTW!

they should upgrade the geth's to look more humanoid than qaurian like...
the mercs are fun to fight too...

I miss the elevator talks... or having the ability to talk to your squad while exploring areas...

Maybe, after playing ME2 for awhile, then going back to ME1, it becomes more clear. Did for me, but still . . . at this point, it's almost like beating a dead horse. Ah, in certain cases.

Wrex. Saren. Sovereign.
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
And a bit more customization for the classes, let's face it, ME1 had it in spades. "RPG elements"...meh, the only criteria for me is if I enjoy the game, not the genre.

Sniping some poor schmuck from half a kilometer up on some mountain while the light of two moons reflect on my rifle... yeah... I miss that.

Mako driving mostly, because it provided variety to general gameplay. Something else to do than dialog and shooting.

I miss the skill variety and being able to outfit my team, though I don't miss 10+ iterations of every weapon, ammo type and armour.
