Nothing really. ME2 took so many steps forward from ME1. The combat, inventory, frame rate, controls, dialogue. The only thing I really miss is the old squad, but thats not really a complaint, just nostalgia. Also it wouldn't make much sense if everyone from before could just leave everything at the drop of a hat, and join you.

ME1 is a great game, and I will still play it( just started a new game last night) but ME2 is better in almost every way.

I just finished a playthrough of ME1 and I did not notice a significant amount of banter.  I mean there was some but it did not seem noticeably more than ME2.

I guess I miss the more serious attempts to explain the science and history.  I still think there were things that did not work, as  I have stated before I think it would work better if it took place 100 years after first contact instead of 26, but this got turned up in ME2.  It seems like they just decided to go with it and stop trying to pay attention to ME 'science' and the timeline and so forth.

Eh all the armor was the same.  I much prefer the mod system of armor we have now...I would just rather I could do it with everybody and not just Shep.

I miss everybody actually having armor.  Miranda, Samara, and Thane would still be HOTT in the skin tight armor they have in Mass Effect so I do not really get it.

Well, it wouldn't be fair to single it down to one thing I miss, so here is a list I composed of all the things I miss the most that would have fit well in ME2 if done properly:

-Economic System

-Looting System

-classy Yet Erotic Love scenes

-Gun mechanics (Ammo/overheating)

-Squad Chatting during missions

-All the Stats you could upgrade

-Finding an unexplored planet and well, explore it yourself.. This gave a sense of discovery like no other game has given me before, especially when you find stuff out about the protheans.

I pretty much disagreed completely with peoples ME1 complaints :bandit:

ME2 was a good game, but generic shooters are nothing special these days.  Sure ME1 had it's flaws, but you don't use a chainsaw to perform plastic surgery.

I's been said a couple of times in this thread but I kind of missed the music. Started a new ME1 game a while ago after a break of at least 6 months, and wow, the music is very striking! You really get that space eerie feeling. But I guess that would have been of in ME2 since it's more action oriented.

And ofcourse, the ability to choose what armor your squad's wearing. I liked the ME2 Shepard customization better than going through hundreds of different armor. Couldn't the two systems meet halfway though?

The music. I actually like ME2's music better and believe it did more for the mood of the game, but I love electronic music, and it was done really well. I still sometimes boot up ME1 just to sit and look at/listen to the title screen.
