I think what you're missing is whether or no the topic is a Sticky topic. Mine all sort down, newest first to oldest last, Sticky has primacy and then non sticky topics. The real issue is that as Sticky Topics, ironically, they don't really stick out like they should.

So pay attention to that and I am willing to bet you'll find it's a bit less willy nilly than you believed.

Well gosh darn it! The chicken is right!! :)

The reason the stickies don't stand out is b/c every topic has an icon. So who's the forum wizard!?

4.  I have to wade through a bunch of forums that I have no interest in.  Isn't there a way to jump to a section easily?

DO posted links somewhere to go directly to the NWN2 forums rather than having to scroll down through Mass Effect and DA. I can't find them at moment.

I put them in the latest Citadel Update. I have bookmarked mine. One less frustration sort of out of the way. I also provided a list of issues with the forums and made an impassioned plea to have them changed. Time will tell. I won't give up or in easily though. Count on that.

I don't get why they even want to get rid of the old boards, I imagine if they weren't owned by EA this would never be happening because for all of the ''technical advancements" of this social site it just feels clunky and archaic compared to the old bioware forums. I mean come on, there's a billion freaking links and things to click on here that I either don't care about, won't use, are useless, stupid, boring or otherwise not catching my attention, etc whereas the Bioware Forums had exactly everything I wanted or needed in a forums. I loved how it showed which games we owned so we'd know how to better assist each other, I loved how easy it was to find what I was looking for, how pleasant it was on the eyes and I liked the old avatars much better than these new ones, I don't get it, just seems like EA wants to get rid of everything that made Bioware special to me. Why can't a company who buys another one keep it for the reasons that they wanted it for in the first place.

And it's not just the boards, I still love Bioware but I now find myself frowning at more and more Bioware decisions whereas in the past I never disliked anything they did. I don't know, I know things change but I'm so tired of all these great, successful independent companies that sell to larger companies who are more interested in making a quick buck. I mean come on, Bioware has never ever been in a hurry to put anything out and it seems like they've got more projects going on now than in their whole career span. I don't know if that's a good thing and only time will tell. I hope it is because the talent is still there but now they have to deal with the pressure of a new boss instead of being their own boss.

Why it was even moved here? NWN2 is an Obsidian game.

P.S.: Sorry. There's another thread.

6.  Does this switch affect the accounts used to play NWN2 online?  Our accounts on the old bioware forums were linked to the login accounts.  Is it the same situation here?  Is there any affect on the current accounts used?  Will our old accounts be transferred?

Any word on this?

As of this moment, your old bioware status on of accounts for registered games and game server connection (vis a vis registered game CD-keys) is wholly unaffected by the move. Until or if they announce shutting down those account/game servers, you have (supposedly) no reason to worry. Until you hear anything Definitive from a Bioware Employee (or you get it from a moderator who got it from one) no changes to your old account will take place. It is also HIGHLY UNLIKELY that you will get a chance to register your old games in the new account (though this is only my opinion) for various technical and legal reasons that I could easiliy propound, though will not.

The upshot of this is that you should be totally okay with how it stands (other than being able to have some sort of listing of your games in any official display capacity.)

The problem with these forums its hard to code certain features. Everyone on here is pretty nice and treat each other with respect. I've been on these forums sense January and I've come to call this site home now. I really hope you all can enjoy yourself here. I'm being a positive vibe here. Bioware just needs to fix the searching of forums really. I'm glad they have a search bar, because when I first got on they didn't. At least they are slowly upgrading. Please give it a chance. I'm glad you all are here because I get to talk to people who have the same game as me. I wanted to go to your old site. I just didn't want to have to many accounts. Things get a little heck tick in my head. I've got so many passwords already. Just kind of glad you all are coming here. =)

I'm still wondering how people get new accounts to play online?

And another gripe about the forum: The new posts are not working. People can post new stuff and it's supposed to show up as yellow on the forum icon so I can see that there are new posts. This happens SOMETIMES and sometimes it doesn't. Today there were a ton of new posts and most of them were STILL marked as read by me. This makes it very, very much a pain to navigate through all the stuff I have already read and find the new content. Is this just me or does it happen to everyone?

And complimentary to that, I login and I have all these yellow posts that show me as a last poster -- now I KNOW I read what I posted. And there are also times when it's clear that the yellow tags are wrong, becuase there are blue tagged (meaning I've read them already) that are NEWER than the yellow ones. It can be frustrating (not to mention that I have to keep logging in, when I have selected "Remember Me" in my login.)

These are issues of data tracking as far as I can see. I am not sure how to even have that set of issues addressed other then to ask them to check their database structure and optimize it, or something... Still, one more slightly frustrating annoyance to add to that side of the scale.

I don't think this board is actively administered. Lower your expectations.
