I can see why he might behind. It is credit that he is there in the first place.

I tnink he needs a suggestive bra-strap pokeing out of his breast plate and, perhaps, a little lace showing.

No offence meant but I don't think the hampster is competeing there.

I'm watching this thread a while now and just wanted to let you know that I can't wait to see one of my ever favourite games redone in the engine of one of my other ever favourite games! Hint: I'm not speaking of Master of Orion II ported to the Final Fantasy VII engine :D
Anyway I wish you (and all of us waiting and watching) an easy progress with fun and inspiration. Add a "donate" button and I will click it! ;)

Btw: Minsk seems to win that competition mentioned above ;) Can't see though why Minsk and not Boo is the sidekick to be voted for.

"Yes! Lead evil by example, and one day we need no longer put the boots to those that stray off the path of goodness into the muck and bile of villainy and track great bloody footprints across our lily white tiles! Boo will have clean wood shavings you evil bastards!"

Cool. The circus tent and Waukeen's Promenade? I've just been playing those areas. Is that last one Irenicus' dungeon? That're pretty nice.

Yes, that's beautiful work. One of these days I'd like to learn to build models like that, even if they are only static.

Hi all...I've been anxiously following and anticipating this project for years. I'm a little worried that there hasn't been any activity on these boards for almost a month...is the project still going? Any new developments?

Thanks

Going strong and making giant steps. Things nevers progressed this fast :)

The baldur's Gate city is taking a real good shape, when this task will be finished, and it is al ready well advanced, the remaining things should go "fast".

Don't worry if there is no news that means that the project is still going.

That's very nice to hear!!

I won't ask for a release date, but how about publishing some new screen-shots?
Wait, do I remember right? Wasn't there a gameplay-video in discussion, which was even suggested by one of you guys form the remake-team, not from a impatiently waiting follower of this thread? That would be great.
Even if I don't remember correct, that doesn't change the fact, that it would be really great.

We're still plugging away on the project; don't worry, we're finishing this thing. We have too many years (gulp) and way too many hours invested in this thing to not finish it. Besides, we're getting very close to shipping this thing out! :)

We'll probably be putting together a trailer at some point, though they definitely take a bit of time to do well, and I'd rather spend the time on putting the project together. We can probably put together a few more screenshots soon too.

I hope you guys pump up the difficulty. One striking difference between BG/BG2 and NWN2 is how easy the latter is. Most battles end relatively quickly and with a mostly unscathed party. I miss the times when I'd have to repeat a fight in BG/BG2 several times to be able to beat it, just barely. No superhero NPCs back then...

The thing about NwN2 is that you could rest for 5 seconds anywhere and everything was reset on your character. Got back all your spells and abilities and every ailment was gone.
Also you couldn't be interrupted while sleeping and most mages were not prebuffed or using serious spells.

All that can be changed, and from previous posts, you can tell that the team is trying for the most authentic Baldur's Gate experience possible.

Just a quick question.. Story wise will you have to know anything about the original Baldur's Gate to play this or will it all explain itself ? As I've never played the original version and often wondered what everybody's been raving about and this could be my chance to finally find out..

Tsongo..

We'll still be here to play.  Everyone is veritably frothing at the mouth waiting for release.

The overall difficulty of the game ? yeah should be there. PErhaps even harder than in the original game since it's more difficult to pull monster one by one in NWN2.

You don't need to know anything about the original game, there is no shortcut in what we do. Everything is there, just as in the original game, perhaps even a little more :).

Excellent, and just think I wont even notice if you do miss something out, then again I wont appreciate any additions either !

Keep up the good work all of you, I look forward to finding out what's behind Baldurs Gate.

If you need to know something about the original game that would mean we'd fail.

If you don't notice the addition that 'd mean they are successfull :)

That's really good to hear. Not only NwN2 gives you maximum HP at every level up, but there many race/feat/class/prestige class combinations that can make the original BG1 a cakewalk with the same difficulty.

Not really since you can equip the ennemy correctly as well with good feat/spell /class.

Currently playing through the original BG and am eagerly anticipating this one. Can't wait to give this a play!

Out of curiosity, will you also be placing the little hidden treasure stashes about like in the original? (example, the little items hidden about, like at the Friendly Arm Inn, Nashkel farmer's field, etc).
