If I were an Atari's businessman, I would totally support this kind of initiative.

Not only would I support The Baldur's Gate Remake, as also the Icewind Dale Project and would look for a team to improve the build of The Temple of Elemental Evil and Pool of Radiance Remastered.

Can you guys imagine? All the greatest RPGs with new graphics and the fully potential of Aurora Toolset.

Another good thing to fund would be Kaedrin's PrC Pack. I know lots of people that would pay for having these.

I was wondering, will you include weapon types that didn't exist in BG1? Like Scythes, Kukris, Katanas, Falchions, Rapiers, Warmaces etc

If you don't have anything planned, I suggest you replace the many weapons of a type, with their most similar type.
For example replace many of the Longswords +1 with Scimitars or Rapiers or Greatswords to Falchions or Halberds to Scythes etc

We will probably fill the "exotic weaponry hole" with crafting, and the basic version will be availlable at merchant.

nwn2 is only still alive because of its great community who are eager devoting their free time to work on mods. if atari or another greedy subject funds and sells the best content nwn2 would be dead within weeks!

better to not forget mysterie of westgate's disaster :pinched:

I'm not proposing charge for those contents, but to fund them so more people buy the game. We get official support, they get more costumers. It's a win-win situation.

That would be nice I guess, why would you not want a scythe wielding PC? For me however, so long as you can still get that +2 sword just to the west of the Naskel mines I will be happy.

I have to ask .. do we still get exploding ogres? Nothing like an exploding ogre to brighten up an evenings play.

Exploding ogre ? Well... Didn't I al ready said that NWN2 is a far more powerfull engine than the infinity one and that so far there isn't a single thing that I wasn't able to script ?

So far there isn't a single event that wasn't done. And with the remaining event wich have no new one from all that was made, we can say that we'll have every single event from the orinal game in game. That mean that the exploding ogre is in of course, as all the other events.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm curious:

Most of the monsters in BG are in NWN2 with a few exceptions, (notably ankhegs, xvarts, ogrillons, half ogres, ettercaps (I think), basilisks, tasloi, carrion crawlers, gibberlings, oozes and perhaps a few others).

Will all these critters be included in some form or another?

What's to spoil?  All the modles are already on the vault
link, linkidy, link, link and they do look stylish.
I beleive the ankheg is still a work in progress.

Thanks for the links, Shaun...I should have known to look for them myself.

I also have another question for the developers (this time I did a search but couldn't find anything, so again, apologies if this has already been answered):

How will the random encounters be conducted...the same way in the original, where an overland travel load screen would be interrupted with 'You have been waylaid by enemies...', or will it employ Storm of Zehir's overland map and random encounter system?

^^^ it's a remake. "You have been waylaid by enemies". Iirc they showed pics of the BG map interface a long time ago (there have been many threads on this project, going back a long time).

We have the "same" overland map as the original BG. Just like in the original, you can be "waylaid by enemies and must defend yourself" :)

Something i was curious about, I know you're going to incorporate everything from the original game, but were you also going to incorporate some of your own material as well?
Also if possible, have you considered using the dark alliance theme for the elf song tavern in Baldur's gate itself? As a sort of tribute to hardcore fans of the Forgotten Realms(if not that's cool, just asking)

We are using BG original music, and the music score given with NWN2.

So far the game is mostly a port to NWN2, you'll see a few quests you don't know about, that's true, but they aren't knew, they are just quest that were nevers debugged and fonctional in the original game, but all the materials for them were in.

I'm not going to say anything that hasn't been already said before, just add me to the list of players hoping for the release.

With this and the imminent release of the Icewind Dale modules it'll be like I've been magically transported back to my care-free teenage years!

I assume that this website is for the NWN2 remake discussed here, and not the blathery-forum craft that the other forums are inventing?

I'd like to see how many hits baldurs gate topics are now getting.  Once this mod is out perhaps the rumour mill will poke into action another 'spiritual successor', for better or worse.

Keep up the excellent work. I can't wait to play BG in NWN2, especially as Shallina has suggested there wil be additional quests that were left out of the original...oh to backstab with a quarter-staff..thems the days!

Today, on play, NWN2 costs £12.90, MotB £9.48, SoZ £26.98, lets see if it goes up in price in this frenzy (I hope that the result of the release of this mod contributes toward reviving the/making a NWN2 multiplayer scene)

the website is registered to trent oster and never connected to this mod. something is going on but it will propably be just a port to some portable devices and/or a remake of the game.

BGR remade for NWN2 is only discussed here, we have no website or anything of the sort.

And we are very close to finish the critical path.
