A quick update: I'm still slaving away and getting these areas polished. The Prologue is as good as "done", save for two small issues I'd like to fix before release. I've moved onto the Friendly Arm Inn and all the areas that surround it. Most of these areas I made for this mod, so they need a *lot* of work. Fortunately, after six years of using Electron, I've developed somewhat of a "method" for churning out these areas with polish.
Several people have asked, so I think it might help to explain what exactly the "polish" phase is all about. Basically, the polish phase is all about making the areas look great, sound great, appear consistent, and play well. Then, the actual gameplay is tweaked, including cutscenes dialog, NPC ambient behaviors, spawn points, triggers, balance, etc. NPC appearance is also grouped into this phase as well. Currently, we could release Baldur's Gate: Reloaded without this polish phase since the entire game is technically finished and I think many would find it an enjoyable experience, but we want to release a *great* game, so thank you for your patience while we power through this phase!
I'll release some screenshots as we progress through this phase of development, starting with a few familiar locations below:

Thanks for following the project and we'll have more screenshots for you soon!

Excuse my ignorance but what's an isometric game is it flat with a background like Monkey Island or Donkey Kong ?
Back on topic keep up the good work Baldur's Gate people I've never played it and am looking forward to discovering what all the fuss was about.
Words like "isometric" have to do with the camera. Thankfully, there aren't many to learn. You essentially have top down, 2D, 2.5D, 3D, and isometric. Top down is what it sounds like. You're looking straight down at your character and moving a control pad would translate into movements in the north, south, east, and west directions. 2D is when the camera is looking at the profile of the character and control pad movements translate into forward, backward, up, and down. 2.5D is sort of a mix of 2D and top down. It's similar to isometric but not exactly the same. In both cases, think of the camera starting from a top down view, then rotate it 45 degrees south and then 45 degrees east with respect to the character. Control pad movements translate to moving northeast, southwest, northwest, and southeast for up, down, left, and right respectively. The difference between 2.5D and isometric is that in 2.5D, everything is actually flat but looks three dimensional because of the forced perspective whereas objects in isometric games actually are three dimensional. 3D refers to games wherein the camera is typically either in first person or over the shoulder. I'm including screenshots of games that represent each type to make it a bit clearer for you. Also, PLAY BALDUR'S GATE.

isometric has nothing to with the camera but the rendering of angles. isometric has no depth aka perspective and there're lots of forms of different projections. because there's no perspective you can display the character at any place within the world without optical distortion.

Wow. Please tell me the prologue demo release is going to happen soon.
I'd love to, though the download size would be pretty big--around 1.5gb. Not sure if people would be willing to put up with that or not.

Don't know about anyone else, but if your were to put it on a CD I would be happy to cover postage and the cost of the disc. Might be too much work for you though I imagine - which would be totally understandable

Hi drechner, With the prologue alone being 1.5g, would you be releasing the game in bit size chunks (say, a chapter at a time)? or as a series of modules?

As Shallina stated, we're releasing it all together, not in chunks. The hak file is the biggest part and unfortunately we can't break that apart
Basically, the Prologue is ~1.5gb, but the entire game is ~2gb

Challseus was supposed to be an all powerful mage in that battle, not a priest <_<
