Drew is currently polishing the area layout, and putting the items or "loot" in the maps. We had only the scripted and plot item in game before.

in february he probably won't be finished with this, but we'll start beta testing gameplay and scripting with exterior poeple from the team in order to correct the differents bugs that we didn't noticed until now. even if we are confident that our work is solid and without many trouble, until it's trully tested in real condition you'll nevers know.

I just wanted to say good luck to all the team working on this project. I can imagine what you are doing is a massive undertaking that is taking away a lot of time from your busy lives. I am looking forward to immersing myself fully once it is ready; I'm sure it will be something you can be proud of, but even if it isn't, I am nonetheless grateful for the time and effort you have committed to this. Best of luck on your continued efforts!

After 6 years of work, I'm guessing they're not going to be including a game that was released two months ago.

Well, drechner's sig says March 2013, so it's soon.

I'm happy to hear this news and thank all of the hard working people involved, even though I haven't gotten the chance to play through either the BG series or NWN (only have the first game anyway..).
But since this will be available for free (I suppose?), I guess I'll still have the chance to get my hands on it later :)

*YOU* have not understand anything. I mean: BG was wanderful, but if you should make a remake IN 2012, what sense is to re-make the ALMOST same game of the original? Shouldn't they *enhance* the original game, maybe with a 3d graphic, or the 3.5 (or 4.0) D&D rules instead those HORRIBLES advanced d&d 2.0? CA in negative? BIclass 4 humans and multiclass 4 other races?? OH, C'MON!!!!

Were there any trolls in Baldur's Gate? I don't recall them showing up until the sequel.

haha this is fun, It is *YOU* who misunderstand...as BG EE isn't much different i was therefore implying that you thought the original BG therefore also sucks! I agree tho the remake wasn't a proper remake, it seems they just tried to make it compatible while adding a few unneeded things.
A proper remake is like what is being achieved here. A version of the game that is the same but dfferent. Baldur's Gate and its sequel would be heaven with todays graphics and special effects ect. but of course the same story and characters.

It's called "ENHANCED" Edition, not "REMAKE". Think The Witcher Enhanced Edition. Tons of bug fixes and tons of new stuff and improvements.
It was never remade, it was improved and updated and they're continuing the official support.

Also, try going to the official forum of BGEE and suggest them that you would want it in 4.0E. Take a helmet and a tower shield.
This is what is being done here. People are remaking the first game in 3D and in 3.5E. It would be a waste if it was remade officially too.

Now you have variety: you have the original game from GoG that you can customize, you have the Trilogy and TuTu mod, you have BGEE which is officially supported and updated and you have this mod for NwN2 which is a remake, plus the DAO remake for BG2.

I'm not sure if this is a serious question or a poke at the stupid argument that is happening, but yes, there were trolls in BG1.

@Luminus: Think-what-u-wish. I really don't care. But as lady_lunatic said, and as i wanted to say originally, this "enhanced" edition doesn't seem that really "enhanced" to me... and also to many others. It seems more like a simple "try to make some more cash with a legendary game with veery little hard work". Do u think bg ee is fantastic?? Go on! It doesn't matter now, since it is yet done. But *I* think Baldur's Gate deserved something more. Fortunataly there's people like Shallina, or Drew who provides to it.

Well, think what you wish about BGEE also, we don't care.

It's called "Enhanced" Edition, once again. Enhancing, by definition, means that you add stuff and improving on what was already there.
They took the original game, cleaned up the code, fixed hardcoded bugs and many others fixed by the community, restored items and quests, added areas, items, NPCs, lines, romances, the Blackguard kit etc etc.

They never said "We remade BG from scratch". That's a different thing. And no, it's not a cash-in. They didn't re-release the original games in a box, like Atari did. That's a cash-in. "Hey, we included all the Infinity Engine games in a box, completely untouched. Come buy it."

They added and fixed stuff and they keep on adding stuff and extending the support.
The last patch added a new joinable NPC for free.

Don't like it? Don't buy it. The original is still on GOG. Though that one is unsupported, so no official new stuff or fixes for you.

This one is a "REMAKE" not an "ENHANCED" Edition.

And let's stop the off-topic discussion in this thread.

By the way, to get on topic, if you don't know it already, Kaedrin stopped making public releases of his pack, which means there would be no newer versions for single player.

So, you might want to update the remake with his latest pack, including your own changes and additions, since it's now final.

Heeheehee... right. Thanks for clarifying all the UPPERCASE TEXT and flailing exclamation points!!!!!!!!

Perhaps you two could kindly stop hijacking this thread with an off-topic "discussion" and take it up elsewhere?

Does this module have K's pack implemented (like Risen Hero), or what?

He posted this yesterday. I don't know if it's relevant for single player, but he mentions "new versions".

If someone wants to discuss the possible suckage of BGEE, s/he can open a separate thread about the possible suckage of BGEE.

By new version I mean the one that is publically available on the vault. That one is slightly outdated compared to his latest one provided to those servers but not too much.

And yes, this module will include a modified version of K's pack but I think not the latest, publically available.
So I'm suggesting that since he has no plans to update it, they could take that one since it's the final public one and it's pretty solid, I think.

I wasn't aware that it was included. I suppose this has already been explained at some point, but is it modified in order to reflect the availble classes, spells, etc. in BG?

But yeah, it would be best if it was updated to the latest version, if that's not too complicated/time consuming to do.
