I will say once again: DON'T be in a hurry to release it. Make sure that everything is working as intended. Make sure to update it after release, with community suggestions about bugs.
You don't want your module to be labeled as "it's good but it's a buggy mess".

It's easy to get excited to release it early after all this time. ;)

Not long now until we get to here "Heya! It's me Imoen!" And I answer "That's nice, but you will probably be dropped as soon as a better thief comes along as I hate your chirpy attitude!" lol. I must admit, having completed the original Baldur's Gate with the classic Jahera/Khalid/Imoen/Minsc/Dynaheir combination I would look to drop all of them at the first opportunity to add variety.
Can I ask (and sorry of this has already been discussed) will Jahira still leave with Khalid and Minsc still take Dynaheir if you ask one of them to leave as per the original?

Indeed they do!

We're definitely not rushing the release ;) The build is pretty stable so far, but we do have 5 beta testers who are helping us track down some of the ones we've missed.

For all you guys waiting for this game, as beta tester I can tell you it will be well worth the wait - it is a fantastic accomplishment!!
You are all in for a treat, Drechner and Shallina have put in a HUGE amount of time, effort, patience and obviously love into this project and even with the (very minor) bugs - that are being cleared up as we speak - it is a masterpiece they should be justifiably proud of. After it get's it's polish it will comfortably up there with the best....looking down on them all!!

And WOW.. all that work kept going all this time be TWO people!

Thanks for the kind words!

Good news: I just launched our official Facebook page! Please head over to http://www.facebook....ursGateReloaded and like the page. I'll be treating it somewhat as a blog for the remainder of the project and will have some exclusive photos, videos, and other features. I kicked-off a frequent update featuring the NPCs in BGR, complete with their new appearances, so check it out! Also, tell your friends to like our page too :)

In other news, I finally got around to taking some more screenshots, some of which are showing off some of the new banners I made.

Small request. Please make all the enemies have lootable corpses when they die, instead of the stupid, stupid loot bags they turn into by default. That would make it more like the original.

It's such an immersion breaker when the battlefield turns into a field with glowing bags.

Pffft. They ARE glowing bags. Just glowing bags that you kill for experience, and nothing else. Especially paladins.

... That could actually be a module. Or a film. "Attack of the glowing bags", or something like that.

Actually, the original had a corpse and a lootable pile of items that looked like whatever was on top in their inventory.

True but the closest you can do is having lootable corpses instead.
And honestly, having all your items dropped on the ground was kinda stupid but I realize that they did what they could in the original.

It was especially annoying that every time a companion died, you had to reequip everything once you raised them and armor can't be equipped while in battle.
So you had your tanks in their default clothes and joining the battle again or running away.

Very nice screenies! I recognize a number of locales. Just a quick question about the suspension bridges though: do they fit two characters abreast? They look a little narrow, but perhaps that's just the perspective.

They really only fit one character at a time width-wise, which I think makes them interesting tactical locations. Of course, it could also be annoying so we're gauging that with playtesting right now :)

Haha... nice!

BTW, I've started posting some tid-bits about development on BGR (basically what I'm doing on a daily basis or so) on the Facebook page (http://www.facebook....ursGateReloaded) along with pictures of the NPCs. Like our page and check it out! :)

There's room for three actually... Not much room, but it's possible nonetheless.

I'm guessing you can probably recognize that normal map!

I forgot to mention earlier (I'm very sorry!) but all the banners are based off an awesome update that Dark Elhoim made to a crappy banner I had made a long time ago :)

Speaking of which, if anyone wants to help out with any of the custom art work, please let me know!

I liked that. It meant that if someone in the party died and you had to travel to a temple to have them resurrected you had to either carry all of their stuff or leave it behind. In some cases someone with plate would be killed and the remaining party members were too weak to carry it.  Forces you to make some hard choices.

It's cool, I'm glad to see they were of any help! :D

In any case, I'll write you a mail later to see if I can help with anything else. I'm kinda busy with AoD and Dead State right now, but I believe I can spare some time =)

I get what you're saying but I think that it's really stupid that the character gets out of their armor when they die. I get that they drop their weapons, shields, maybe helmets and bags of loot.

But getting out of their armor when they die, doesn't make much sense (even game-wise) and it's a huge inconvenience as they lose their main defense, so they can die again easily.

I imagine that's the engine's fault since it drops every item on the spot and the "corpse" becomes a part of the background and unclickable or unlootable.

It was most of a necessary evil than anything, because of engine limitations.

There, I signed in to my old and happily forgotten Facebook just to "Like" you guys. :)

These screen shots just blow me away.

Now, I'll just go back to my pacing and mumbling about BG Reloaded if you don't mind.

From the point of view of carrying their corpse to a temple, it makes sense that you'd remove their armour first. Even light armour would make it difficult to sling the corpse over your shoulder.

It's only when resurrecting them on the spot that it became an issue (combined with the fact that they couldn't re-equip during combat). Having worn equipment automatically re-equip as part of the resurrection process would have been better. Or perhaps some sort of temporary sanctuary-like effect that allowed the resurrected to equip armour in a combat situation.

I would prefer instead that you can equip your armor as long as you're not fighting or being attack or it takes some time to do like two or three rounds like some spells. It would be better than nothing.
