I mean come on, dragon age 2 completely ruined Hawke. who cares? wheres my character and my story? At least in mass effect you can continue your story why not the grey wardens?
"So... for the second one they decide to completely change it? Was ME 2 so successful that changing the second Dragon Age from an apparently incredibly successful formula to Mass Effect with Swords seems worth it?"_Marik333

Also why the dramatic change in Mass Effect. I personally loved the first one and played 7playthroughs, the second one however i can't even finish my 3rd playthrough. What happened to the RPG element of the RPG game. what happened to all of my customization, i can't add upgrades to my armor, i can't add upgrades to my weapons, and my power ups suck. this game is just gears of war in space.

Ever since EA merged with Bioware, the games have been going down hill, and all anyone is doing is saying "Bioware Sucks" when i'm fairly certain it's not even Bioware's fault. EA is ruining this once great company.

They never said you could continue the Warden also my Warden had a definite ending. NOt going into spoilers here.

And under EA we have DA:O and ME 2, clearly horrible games.

EA is not doing anything. It's Bioware's decision. Stop blaming them! Jeez!

EA have been pretty decent lately, lots of new and decent IP's.

Activision and Ubisoft are far, far worse.

To be able to say with absolute certainty whether the answer is yes or no. You would need to see where they would be without EA.

Yes, the EA Execs pushed all of the BioWare devs out of the way and sat down to code.

Blaming EA for perceived (or real) ruination of games is unfortunately just pure speculation. As Messy said, to examine this effect you would need to know where they would have gone without EA. And that's pretty much speculation too.

Can a publisher have some effect? Probably yes. I imagine (see my choice of word) that they control some of the content, production time-frame, and other things but anything beyond that is anyone's guess. I prefer to put the blame directly on the creator of the product if I have a problem with it.

Stupid thread is stupid.

How about putting some actual thought into your arguments, or possibly have them relate to the thread title in some way?

Are kangaroos ruining Australia? I was in Aus a while back and I didn't like the way the water flushed in the toilets.

Toilets don't actually flush in different directions depending on hemisphere, it's a myth and I blame The Simpsons for spreading it.

The founder of Bw is on the Board of Directors for Ea. Just throwing that out there.

Maybe we should replace ruining with running EA  ;)

He is the senior vice president of EA and not the
only one who founded BioWare.

Out of the top publishers, EA have to be my favourite. UbiSoft have just lost the plot (and don't seem to put anything interesting out), Activision are just insane... Valve have forgotten that they're supposed to release games. So yeah, dtp, Nobilis and 1C Company FTW ;)

If i look at the prices, they arent quiet giving their fans a favour. Look at Awakening ,its an addon for 40€ lol..

Valve have forgotten that they're supposed to release games

Oh you must have missed the Engineer update for TF2 this week ^^   Unless you want a new game because its a new game, TF2 ever has been updated for free. ,just throwing that out where i said that poopie awakening is 40€ but that wasnt my idea.

In the end entropy wins. It's all going to end in tears regardless. I don't blame EA for Bioware's mis steps. I don't blame Bioware for Bioware's mis steps. I blame koalas. They've been sucking us in with their eucalyptus fueled cuteness ever since the discovery of Australia. The lassitude and fuzziness are just fronts for their true, inner evil. Every game that has every sucked in the history of suckiness was really designed by developers distracted by koalas.

Fact.
