Sea of Dragons has recently reached the Hall of Fame mark on NWVault! With a ranking of 9.85, we're currently third all time ranked on the vault. Whether or not people believe that votes really mean anything or not, I still think of this as a good achievement for such a young server.
We've been putting in some additions recently to make the server even better. Most notable would be Pain's (from Dungeon Eternal 2) spell system and chat commands.
If you're interested in a Faerun-based RP PW the stop on by and check out the server. Read more about it at www.seaofdragons.com

Also of note, Sea of Dragons is working towards community-friendly haks in reduce the amount of time players spend downloading when they log into various servers. Currently Dungeon Eternal and Sea of Dragons are sharing about 150MB of haks. We expect to at least double that in the future.
The ultimate goal of course is to encourage all PW's to use standardized creature and tileset haks so players only have to download such haks once regardless of where they play.

I haven't been keeping up with posting new content as it's been added but roughly speaking, we've added around 10 new monsters, 1 new area and 60 new spells over the past two weeks.
We are also preparing to move the server for multiple reasons. One is to have access to MySQL which will permit us to develop more and better custom systems.
A dynamic loot system is also in the works. It will be capable of creating DnD style magical gear as loot on monsters, in chests and even in stores.

Due to a hectic schedule I've neglected to update this thread as I should. This does not mean we haven't added new content though. Please view this link for a detailed list of additions and fixes to the server: www.seaofdragons.com/forum/viewtopic.php.

Here is a brief overview of additions:
- 4 new areas.
- 80 new spells.
- A new server that utilizes a MySQL database.
- A new DM for the European players.
- Migration of our haks to community friendly haks. Currently we have updated creatures and BCK in this manner. The RWS tilesets will follow in the future. This means that players who wish to try out participating servers will only have to download those haks once. This is a feature that is in high demand amongst players so DEX2 and SoD are spearheading the effort. At least one PW in the making will be doing the same and a few others already use the creature haks. Players can go bug the admins on other servers to follow suit.

It's been a busy summer for many of our staff members in terms of real life responsibilities but we're getting geared up for production once again. Here's a list of the most recent additions to the server.
9 NPCs
5 areas
15 monster blueprints
4 stores
200+ spells for all classes
We've got more content lining up for the near future. I'll post details after it's released.

Although I haven't been posting here on a regular basis, we're still adding plenty of new content. We've fully implemented Pain's Spell system over a week ago. We also now have custom AI and trap scripts to provide more unique challanges for our players.
Current projects:
Dynamic Loot Generation
Bounty Hunting
Also, at this very moment we're hosting a server-wide event. Check out our forums for more details on both the event and server updates.

A couple of our members have created some fun videos while playing on our server. Check out the following thread to view them.

This coming weekend is the one year anniversary of Sea of Dragons going into open beta. We've had a great year with lots of new updates such as custom coded systems, PnP style monsters. In all, we've made more headway on this project than we expected in such a short period of time. We're looking forward to doing just as much in the coming year.
However, that can wait for a few days at least. For now it's time to celebrate a little bit and do something fun for our players. This coming weekend (February 4/5/6) we are going to take a shot at doing a three day marathon of DM-run events. That's right --- though I don't think we can cover all 72 hours, we're going to have 7 DMs online that weekend as much as possible.
If you've played on SoD or currently play there, be sure to stop by sometime and try to get into one of the plots. If you haven't played there, now might be a good time as we hope to have both a lot of DMs and a lot of players on during this weekend.
Anyone needing more information about the server can just read through this thread or click the link in my signature to jump to our forum.

Just started playing there myself. So far I am very happy with the focus and direction of things on the server. They definitely make it feel like a real adventure world instead of Facebook with graphics as I have seen in some places. As a low level adventurer, i have already found a bunch to do. And the custom spells (and their uses) keeps me really enjoying myself.
So come on around if you are looking for a genuine fun PW with lots to do. Hope to see you there.

It is nice to have you Thorne. We are up to 80+ area's and have ALOT to offer in many unique ways. A great DEV staff that listens to its players and a DM staff that is always helping and willing to run events and character development plots. At SoD we have put ALOT of attention into details throughout the PW and lots of fun and exciting things to do that you won't see on any other server. As Thorne suggested, "Come on around"....the weather is nice!

This is the best roleplaying server in NWN 2 i think, of all the RP servers i have tried. The server have many interesting, fun and varying quests. Areas are great, and many custom functions made to enhance RP.
The playerbase is great, and the admins, staff are very kind, by far the best community for any server i have come across, and i have played NWN 2 since release.
