I JUST started a new game (with a level 50 half-elf fighter/mage/cleric (damn I've played and modded this game too much- a level 50 F/M/C, a 50/49 Thief/Kensai, AND A level 50 Fighter/Mage/Assassin- modded with SK- it's not fair that dual-class characters can have custom kits, but multi-class characters CAN'T), and found the demi-lich in Watcher's Keep is SIGNIFANTLY harder than Kagnaxx. Kagnaxx (in Demi-Lich form) is NOT immune to Turn Undead (he's immune to death effects in normal lich form, because he is a "scripted" boss). The nameless demi-lich in Watchers Keep IS immune to Turn Undead (even if my cleric wasn't high enough level to destroy him, he should be powerful enough to make him run in fear). Kagnaxx in DL form is NOT immune to undead slaying weapons (Azuredge, Mace of Disruption, Runehammer), Nameless DL in Watcher's Keep IS.

Here's a list of my mods I'm using

G3Fixpack
G3Tweak pack
Dungeons-be-Gone
Item Upgrade
Tutu (which I KNOW it's original BG, but Tutu allows you to get upto level 50)
Shadowkeeper

That's it

If I remember correctly I've defeated it by using Invisibility or Scroll of protection vs. Undead.

Yeah I sometimes used forcetalk too, guess I'm a noob :((((

This just show one of my favourite things about Baldur's Gate II, not even cheating is a replacement for proper tactics. There are many ways to kill a demi lich, such scrolls of protection from undead/magic or a Spell Trap.

Are you asking a question here? a 50th level solo FMC shouldn't have a problem. The vanilla demi lich really only has spamming its Imprisonment spell and doesn't really have many HP for that stage of the game. Just cast Spell Immunity to the right school to protect from imprisonment and whack away with high enchantment weapon.

I'm just saying there's an old topic on the original forums about the most difficult fight, and I said this fight, and people disagreed with me because Kagnaxx is tougher. Kagnaxx, to be completely honest, is not a tough fight. I've never had a problem with it. But this nameless lich IS... he's immune to almost everything save straight damage. The ONLY ways to beat him seems to be using a Prot from Undead spell, rage, or slayer form.

I think the spell SI:Abjuration or Protection from Magic scrolls work too.

The fun thing is that as soon as you enter the crypt, the demilich starts spamming Imprisonment. Without metagaming, you're toast.

That said, I didn't have the impression (s)he was immune to the Mace of Disruption +2.

as I posted in the original thread and I was paying CLOSE attention to the fight) I kept seeing (when he was hit by the MoD+2) "Undead Destroyed" message, but he was still there.

In this playthrough, I used a Prot from Undead scroll, and stood there for like 2 rounds with Turn Undead activated, and it wasn't affected by that as well. I tried that with Kagnaxx, and low and behold, he dies as soon as you turn him (in demilich form- you have to beat him down in lich form normally).

The Demilich in Watcher's Keep isn't immune to Turn Undead, but its immunity to instant death effects apparently protects it against being killed by Turn Undead. You can control it with evil clerics.

I hate the way Demiliches are handled in BG.
