Probably Baldur's Gate. Even though Shadows of Amn expanded on it and is overall "better" I felt the original had more of a sense of adventure (not to mention I really like low-level campaigns for balance alone). Though I won't forget the first time I forged a Crom Faeyr.

Anytime I see someone reply "NWN2" or "KotOR 2", I want to kick something.



Anyway, my favorite will always be Knights of the Old Republic. I really felt like the Ebon Hawk crew changed at the end of the story and bonded as this strange, motley family... And that meant something. The game introduced me to RPGs when I was a wee girl and it also got me into the original Star Wars trilogy (I still hold that this game is infinitely better than the prequels). I got so attached to the characters, too, and man who doesn't want to be a Jedi? It was impossible for me to not love it.



Dragon Age comes in second for its superb story and ability to let you make your own person. Lots of good memories from both games.

5) NWN: HotU, only HotU because, frankly, NWN1's OC was terrible and SoU wasn't the best, but HotU was genuinely fun. This and KotOR1 are more of a tie.

Baldur's Gate II: SoA is far and away my favorite, followed by Dragon Age.

While I realize BioWare didn't do Neverwinter Nights 2, from what I understand they provided things like the engine. That said, I'd probably put that game (the patched version, not the initially-released unfinished bugfest) at #5.

I love everything about ME 2. It has a good challenge, good story, characters and great look. The gameplay isn't slowed down by useless crap items and its focus on playing and being the main character.

ME 1 and KoTOR both have a great story, and good immersion. But the gameplay needs improvement.

DA:O had great characters, I liked the battles and the setting, but the story didn't catch me that much.

NWN 2 surprised me how good it actually was. It was an improved version of BG2.

BG 2 was the best game of its time, but had that horrible D&D system. The story was OK, but not great. Many good characters, but that's it.

BG 1 was nothing special. Only good thing was the transfer to BG 2.

I realise this topic will probably get locked for being OT, but I can't resist:

Bioware:

1. ME series so far
2. Baldur's Gate series
3. Dragon Age
4. Tie between Jade Empire and KoTor
5. NWN (which really only makes an appearance cos of the hundreds of mods I've downloaded)

And just for the hell of it

Non-Bio:

1: Planescape:Torment
2: NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer
3: KoTor2 (cut content mod adds a few new interesting bits). Ties with Fallouts 1 & 2.
4: Fallout 3 (can't wait for New Vegas!) - though not enjoying Mothership Zeta much. Tied with Deus Ex.
5: Arcanum (love the Steampunk setting - due to be revisited by RPGs. Is Deus EX III Steampunk-ish?)
